Ducky Lucky

Hi Stampers,

Remember the childhood story of Henny Penny, Goosey Lucy and Ducky Lucky?  Maybe you’re not old enough.  The cute little mother duck from the Fable Friends stamp set reminds me of the duck in the story.  She’s all dressed up in her Cherry Cobbler hat and cloak.  I love the black and white checked paper which is on the flip side of one of the Sale-a-bration DSP.  Unfortunately the paper is no longer available but I couldn’t resist.  I started with a base card of Real Red CS followed by a layer of Pineapple Punch CS.  I added black cord as an accent.  The inside of the card has the troupe  of ducklings marching across the bottom.  Take a peek and let me know what you think.

On another note we have a new addition to our feline family today.  In February our 14 year old cat died.  Well how can I be three Cats A Stampin with only two cats.  We have been searching for awhile, even willing to drive five hours to a shelter. We found Molly at the same shelter as we got two of our dogs in the past.  She’s 6 months old and quite a combination.  She has four white socks, a very black nose and right leg, a tabby tail and mixed tortoise shell orange and black on the rest of her tiny little body.  So take a peek at her too.

Try Glycerin with Brusho

Good Morning Stampers, At my class on Saturday one of my downlines who is amazingly creative brought a bunch of cards she had created using the glycerin technique.  The smooth blend of inks for your background is awesome.  I wanted to check out how glycerin worked with Brusho.  I had a small scrap of Whisper White CS laying on my work bench.  I spread a very thin layer of glycerin on the paper and then sprinkled two colors of Brusho on it.  I took a sponge and blended the powders into a nice smooth background.  I did not add any water to the Brusho. I stamped the image from the Southern Serenade stamp set with Coastal Cabana ink on the background.  The base card is Mint Macaron CS.  I attached a piece of cardstock from the Tranquil Textures DSP series.  I used a border from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut specialty paper series.  I added a few pearls to the floral image.  Super quick and super fun to try a new technique.  If your looking for glycerin it will be in the make up section of your pharmacy.  One bottle will last forever because you only use a drop or two at a time and it dries quickly so you don’t have to wait to finish your project.  Take a look and give it a try.

Fable Friends

Hi Stamping Friends. I know it has been several weeks since I posted anything.  The crud I had turned into pneumonia so I have been out of commission.  This time I am finding it harder to bounce back than two years ago when I was unlucky enough to have pneumonia then too. Today I am sharing a card from my class on Saturday.  It is very simple but oh so cute.  I started with a base card of Highland Heather followed by the matching DSP from the Gingham Gala series. I used the scalloped circles from the Layering Circle framelits in Highland Heather and Whisper White CS.  On the Whisper White circle I stamped the squirrel image from the Fable Friends stamp set with Memento Black ink.  I used Stampin’Blends to color the image. A simple ribbon with a wooden flower (from Sale-a-bration) topped with a Gingham Gala flower sequin finished the card.   I once again thank you for taking time to stop by.  I will try my best to post more frequently.  I appreciate your patience.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Good Morning Stampers,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  I’m not a big meat lover so no Corned Beef for me.  In fact the crud has gotten to me and I don’t really have an appetite.  I wanted to make something “green” for today but I didn’t want it to be the traditional shamrock theme. This is what I came up with.

The base card is Mint Macaron, hey it’s still green!  I had a frame left over from another card so after I used the abstract dot image from the Beauty Abounds stamp set to create a background I placed the frame in the center.  On scrap Whisper White CS I stamped the flowers from the All That You Are stamp set and colored them with Stampin’ Blends.  I used a framelit from the Frosted Bouquet set to cut out a few leaves.  I also used Stampin” Blends to add a little interest to the leaves.  I fussy cut the flowers and added them with liquid glue.  I’m happy with how it turned out.  Take a look and let me know what you think.

I’m A Little Teapot

Happy Monday Stampers, I think Spring might be trying to break through the snow.  The sun has been shining and the snow is melting.  The Cardinals are singing their Spring song.  I know we probably will get dumped on at least one more time with the white stuff but it does seem like there’s an end in sight.  Today I have a sweet little card.  Super quick and super cute.  It would be great for a little gift card or to stick in with a hostess gift.  I made the little envelope with the Envelope Punch Board.  The card itself is cut from Whisper White CS using the Tea Time framelits.  I cut two.  I ran one through the Big Shot with the Country Floral embossing folder.  I used daubers to highlight some of the embossed images.  How cute is that?   I CASE’d this idea from Carol Payne a fellow Stampin’Up! demonstrator. Thank you for stopping by and remember I am here to help with questions or if you are tempted to place an order or join my team.

Dandelion Wishes Birthday

Hi Everyone,

I promised to show you a card yesterday that was the birth child of the scrappy card I posted on Tuesday.  Well I forgot I had a class yesterday  to create a mosaic bird bath.  Needless to say it took longer than I had anticipated.  So the card I promised yesterday is here today.  This is a card I created for my step daughter’s birthday.  It begins with a base card of Blushing Bride CS followed by a piece of Mint Macaron CS.  On a piece of Soft Sea Foam CS I stamped the image from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set with Memento Black ink.  This cardstock is so faintly green that it can easily work as well as Whisper White or Very Vanilla CS as a base for stamping your image.  I cut two frames with the Layering Squares framelits.  I attached a ribbon  and a bow with White Twine to finish the card.  The greeting is from the same stamp set, Dandelion Wishes.  I CASE’D this idea from another demonstrator whom I cannot remember.  I know hers was done in black and white.  Thank you to my fellow demonstrator.  I am sharing a picture of my birdbath along with today’s card.  I had fun doing both.  See what you think.
