Timeless Tulips

Good Tuesday Morning Stampers,

I hope you had a relaxing weekend. I had a laid back Sunday.  After church services I had another cup of coffee and sat with my little fur baby on my lap until lunch time.  I did sneak in a little time to create this card.  Take a look and let me know what you think.

I started with a base card of Whisper White CS.  I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set and Melon Mambo ink to stamp two tulips on the front of the card.  I stamped them as close to the edge as possible.  I did that so I could partially fussy cut the outside tulip.  I stamped the leaves with Old Olive ink.  On the inside of the card I stamped another stem and leaf I stamped a tulip on a scrap of Whisper White CS and used the Tulip punch to punch it out.  I adhered the punched tulip back to back with the tulip I had fussy cut. The inside of the card was layered with Old Olive and Melon Mambo CS.  It might look complicated but truly it is not.  I hope you like it and give it a try..

Simply Tulips

Hello Stampers, I friend of mine asked me to make a Mother’s Day card.  I know I had plenty of time to create it but why wait until the last minute.  I chose the Timeless Tulips stamp set for the image and greeting.  I started with a base card of Purple Posy card stock. I added a double point fold onto Blushing Bride CS for the second layer.  The pointed folds were made with DSP from the Bird Ballad series.  I used the Stitched Nested labels to cut one Purple Posy and one Whisper White die cut.  On the Whisper White piece I stamped the tulip stem and leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink.  The greeting is also Pear Pizzazz.  I stamped the smaller tulip in the set with Petal Pink ink.  I stamped the smallest tulip bud on the inside of the card with the greeting “what a beautiful difference one single life makes”, also from the Timeless Tulip stamp set. Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy this simple, sweet card.

Paper Piecing

Hi Stampers,

Today I am sharing a technique I haven’t used in quite awhile.  An old friend of mine brought it to my attention.  She had just finished a whole series of paper pieced cards so I thought I would create one of my own.

The base card is Granny Apple Green followed by a piece of retired DSP.  In fact I used retired DSP for all of the pieces on the image.  I chose the image from Good Morning Magnolia.  It is easiest to paper piece a larger image.  I chose three different paper designs in the same color family.  I stamped the image on each of the papers and then fussy cut three different sections of the image. I then stamped the image on Whisper White CS with Memento Black ink.  I did sponge So Saffron on the background first.  I put the puzzle back together by laying the pieces over the stamped image.  I colored the stem with Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the pieces to the image.  I absolutely love how this turned out.  I’ll be doing more of this soon.  It realy is a fun technique.  I hope you give it a try.

Simply Lily Impressions

It’s a beautiful, sunny Sunday in Wisconsin.  My hubby left for about an hour of work so I thought I would share a simple card with you.  I stated with a base card of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I used the large and accent water lily images from the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set to create a background with Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo inks.  I attached a piece of the Lily Impressions DSP to the base card.  Both the stamp set and the designer series paper are free items you can earn with a $50 purchase from the current Stampin’ Up! catalogs during Sale-a-bration which ends March 31.  I had used one of the dies from the Detailed Bands die set for a different card.  I used the inside piece from cutting this to stamp the greeting on.  It’s amazing what you can do with what some people call scraps,  I know some demonstrators don’t save their scraps but I have found they can sometimes be just what you need to complete or compliment a project.  I hope you enjoy this little simple creation.

Sale-a-bration Thoughtful Blooms

Good Morning Stamping Friends,

Last Saturday I held a class. While prepping for the class I used the Stitched Nested Labels to cut a piece from Purple Posy CS. It was used on the card I shared on my previous post.  When I cut the piece I needed I was left with enough cardstock to make a different card. I didn’t exactly center the die when I was cutting but it worked perfect for the blossoms from the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set.  I used a piece of card stock from the 6 x 6 Best Dressed DSP  for the inside of the card.  I used Highland Heather and Old Olive inks to stamp the images along the left side of the card.  I cut an oval from Purple Posy CS with the Layering Ovals die set.  I stamped the greeting and a few more blooms on the oval and adhered it to the inside of the card.  Very quick and easy but I love the soft colors and the fact that I could use a remnant from another project.

Thank you for spending some time with me.  Have a happy Wednesday.

Ready For Spring Anyone

Hi Stampers,

Am I the only one tired of heaps of white snow and cold winds?  I know living in Wisconsin I should be used to it by now but by this time in Winter I am so ready for Spring.  It’s a perfect time to use the new Timeless Tulips stamp set and the new Tulip punch.

This card is known as a double point flap card.  The piece created with the Stitched Nested Labels that has the tulip image stamped in Highland Heather ink flips up to reveal a greeting.  I also chose to attach it to a regular A2 card base of Purple Posy.  I used cardstock from the 6 x 6 in-color pack to create the flaps.  These flaps are 3 x 4 inches and scored at one inch on the 4 inch side.  They are folded to a point and attached behind the Blushing Bride CS.  Only attach the flap at the top so that it opens for the greeting.  I also added an additional greeting inside the Purple Posy base card.  If you would like the Tulip with more dimension use the tulip punch and you’ll be all set.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you have questions or comments don’t hesitate to send a message.
