Cracked Glass Technique

Hello My Stamping Friends,

Happy Thanksgiving.  It has been a fiasco getting my blog up and working.  Hopefully the problems have been solved.

Today I am sharing an old technique that I haven’t done in awhile.  I started with a base card of Soft Suede CS.  I used the Corrugated 3D embossing folder and Crumb Cake Cs for the second layer.  I used the Layering Circles dies to cut a piece of Very Vanilla CS.  I stamped the Holly image from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set around the circle and colored the image with Stampin’ Blends. I daubered Crumb Cake ink over the image.  I used Extra Thick embossing powder three times on the image then let it cool completely then folded it several times to crack the thick embossed image.  I used a dauber and Crumb Cake ink over the cracked image.  I attached the image to corrugated CS with liquid glue.  I am a huge fan of vintage and this turned out just as I planned.

#Elfie

Good Morning Stampers,

Last Saturday I had a  class that required several stitched squares.  I cut a few of them on center and had one left over that resembled a frame.  I am not one to throw out scraps if I know I can turn them into something else so I grabbed the #Elfie stamp set and proceeded to create a card.  The base card is Real Red CS. The second layer is DSP from the Wrapped in Plaid series.  I stamped the little elf on Whisper White CS and colored him with Stampin Blends. I attached the frame and the greeting.  I like how the scraps turned out.  Let me know what you think.

Acrylic Paint and A Sponge Brush

Hello Stampers, Over the week end I dragged out old magazines looking for techniques I haven’t used in a long time or haven’t tried at all.  The card I am sharing today has one of the techniques I found.  The base card is Whisper White.  I used mossy green acrylic paint and a sponge brush to create the background.  Not a lot of paint and not a lot of pressure develops the background.  I used Mossy Meadow ink for the tree images from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set.  I stamped the deer from the same stamp set with Soft Suede ink.  I used Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends to color in the deer image.  I had scraps of wood grain DSP which I used for the corners.  This is a simple technique but sometimes simple is better.  I hope you will give it a try.

Happy Anniversary

Hi Stampers, I only have one sibling.  Yesterday my sister and her husband celebrated 54 years of marriage.  She was fortunate to marry a wonderful man who to this day looks at her with love in his eyes.  I was her maid of honor at their wedding.  The color of the attendant dresses was peacock.  It actually looked like Bermuda Bay.  I wanted to make a special card for them so that is the card I am sharing today. I started with a base card of Bermuda Bay CS.  I snipped the corners with a retired punch.  I think it was called the ticket punch.  I added a layer of DSP from last year’s 6 x 6 all occasion paper.  I added a strip of DSP from the Noble Peacock Specialty series.  I used the Stitched Nested Labels and Whisper White CS for the image piece.  I used the flower from the Rare Blessings stamp set coloring it with light and dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends.  The leaves are Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Best Days

Hello Stamping Friends,

It’s been a long time and I’m sure you don’t want to hear the whys and whats so lets just get on with business.

I CASE’d this card idea from a fellow demonstrator, Nancy Ferb Shares.  The stamp set Beautiful Day carried over into the current catalog.  It really lends itself to coloring with Stampin’ Blends.  I just was having a hard time figuring a good layout for a card.  Then I happened upon Nancy’s post and had to give it a try.  I started with a base card of Bermuda Bay.  I stamped partial images of the butterfly from the set on Whisper White card stock. I used Bermuda Bay and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends for the wings.  The inside of the wings were colored with Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.  I adhered the Image to a Basic Black background and then to the base card. I am planning something similar for the large flower which is part of this stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please let me know if you have questions or comments.  As always I would be happy to help you place an order so you can enjoy my love of stamping.
