Multi Medium Canvas

Good morning stampers,

I have been going back to some techniques and projects I have left behind for some time.  I haven’t dabbled in multi medium for too long. Yesterday I pulled out a 4 x 4 block canvas.  I used lime green acrylic paint as a base then added turquoise and bard red along with ivory paints in swipes and smudges.  I stamped the flower from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set after applying pink and rose acrylic paint and olive green for the leaves.  I stamped this onto tissue paper, heat set it and fussy cut the image.  I used mod podge to adhere it to the canvas. Beneath the image is a piece of DSP from the Magnolia Lane series that I tore into a scruffy piece.  I used Old Olive and Early Espresso inks to add leaves, buttons and dots to the background.  A single leaf element and a vintage brad finished my project.  Sometimes when you concentrate on card making you forget the other mediums you’ve used before.  It was fun doing something a little different.  Since Shabby Chic and Vintage are my favorite styles it was a perfect project.  I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for stopping by.

Wooden It Be Nice

Hello Stampers,

I am fortunate to have a husband who loves to find different ways to surprise me.  He especially likes to find things he thinks are useful for my creativity.  He came home one day with a box of sanded and sealed wood rounds with the bark still attached. I tucked them away because at the time I was prepping for a class and had other things on my mind that I was working on. Yesterday I hauled them out and today I am sharing what I did with them.

I used White distress ink as a background and then whisked another green ink to add a little accent.  I wasn’t sure how the wood would (no pun intended), take to stamping but what the heck I have a whole box of them so why not try.  I used Memento Black ink and an image from the Bloom and Grow stamp set to stamp on the wooden piece.  I used Stampin’ Blends to color the image.  I added a bee from the Honey Bee stamp set.  I think it looks pretty great.  What do you think?

Forever Blossoms Note

Happy Tuesday Stampers,

I’m hoping you are all safe and well.  It really upsets me to see people in our neighborhood coming and going without a purpose.  I guess being a nurse makes it hard for me to understand how someone cannot understand germ transmission when it is spelled out in plain language.  This health dilemma has given me more than enough play time.  By the time it is over I will have made more cards than Hallmark!

Today I am sharing a card with bits and pieces of different products.  i started with a base card of Bermuda Bay CS followed by a layer of Old Olive.  I used a sponge dauber and Crushed Olive distress ink to sponge a background on Whisper White CS.  I used the same ink and an image from the Gallery Grunge stamp set to add a little more interest to the background.  In my stash I found a die for a tiny envelope. I used a scrap of DSP to create the little envelope.  I stamped the large flower image and the small flower and leaf from the Forever Blossoms stamp set with Memento Black ink.  I used Coastal Cabana ink to color the blossoms then added Bermuda Bay to shade.  The leaves were colored with Old Olive Stampin’ Blends light and dark.  I added the little envelope to the card and stuck the little blossom and leaf inside.  I attached the large blossom beneath the envelope.  The greeting is stamped with Coastal Cabana ink.

I hope you enjoy the card.  Please let me know if you have questions or comments.  Thank you for the pleasure of your time.

Alternative Stamping

Hello Stampers,

Who would have thought that 2020 would have the critical health dilemma we are currently facing?  I have great faith in God and I pray every day.  I find myself praying ALL day now.  Every lapse in my day has room for a prayer.  On the bright side I have kept busy with my handmade cards.  I am trying to think outside the box and trying different products.

The card I have to share today has very little actual stamping.  I started with a base card of Old Olive CS followed by a layer of Basic Black CS.  I used an image from the Painted Poppies stamp set and Tim Holtz distress ink on Whisper White CS to create a background.  I stamped an image from the Swirly Frames stamp set with Memento Black ink.  I punched an image from the Peaceful Poppies DSP with the 2 1/2 inch punch.  I centered this in the Swirly Frame.  I added a triple banner with a greeting from the First Frost stamp set.

Stay safe everyone and God bless.
