Stampin’Up! Sneak Peek

Good Morning Stampers,

I hope all of you are feeling well.  Fortunately the stay at home order gives me an excuse to be lazy and have some fun with my stamps and some things I haven’t used in years.  Over the week end I organized and uncovered a lot of products I haven’t used for awhile. One of these is stickles glitter. I know it is hard to see in the picture but it adds a lot of sparkle to the finished image.  I started this card with a stamp set that will be in the new annual catalog.  For the first time that I can remember Stampin’Up! is offering a product from the new catalog early.  This set will be available April first.

I started with a base card of Soft Sea Foam CS followed by Old Olive CS for the next layer.  Beneath the image is a retired piece of crackled paper.  I stamped the image from the Ornate Style stamp set with Memento Black ink on Whisper White CS.  I used water color pencils to color the image then added the stickles gliiter.  I framed the image with a frame from the Ornate Layers Die set.  I think coloring is a real stress reliever and can’t we all use that right now.

Take a look and please let me know what you think.  Stay Safe my friends.

A Tisket a Tasket

Hello Stampers,

I’m so glad you stopped by today because I have a stinkin’ cute basket to share with you.  I CASE’d the basket from a friend, fellow demonstrator Kelly Acheson.  I used retired paper because I wasn’t sure it would turn out as cute as it did.  It is the easiest basket pattern I have seen lately.  A while ago in one of my classes we made a basket that was a little tricky to fold.  Now every time I say the word basket I get a groan and dirty looks.  Well guess what, we are doing this basket at my next class even though it is after Easter because I think it makes a darling gift basket.  So on with the instructions.  I started with a 3 1/2 inch square of Highland Heather CS.  Score this piece at 1/2 inch on all four sides.  Cut your tabs as for any regular box. Assemble the box and set aside.  The basket is Designer Series paper measuring 3 x 11 inches.  You will also need two pieces of coordinating card stock measuring 1/2 inch x 11 inches and one piece 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.  On the 11 inch side of the DSP place a strip of tear and tape to the very edge.  Place another piece on one of the short sides. Begin wrapping the DSP around the box.  Use the coordinating strips to trim the top and bottom of the basket. Curl the shorter strip and attach to the basket for the handle.  Decorate it any way you would like.   It’s time to take a peek.

Timeless Tulips

Good Tuesday Morning Stampers,

I hope you had a relaxing weekend. I had a laid back Sunday.  After church services I had another cup of coffee and sat with my little fur baby on my lap until lunch time.  I did sneak in a little time to create this card.  Take a look and let me know what you think.

I started with a base card of Whisper White CS.  I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set and Melon Mambo ink to stamp two tulips on the front of the card.  I stamped them as close to the edge as possible.  I did that so I could partially fussy cut the outside tulip.  I stamped the leaves with Old Olive ink.  On the inside of the card I stamped another stem and leaf I stamped a tulip on a scrap of Whisper White CS and used the Tulip punch to punch it out.  I adhered the punched tulip back to back with the tulip I had fussy cut. The inside of the card was layered with Old Olive and Melon Mambo CS.  It might look complicated but truly it is not.  I hope you like it and give it a try..
