Petal Promenade Puzzle Pieces

Hi Stampers,

The Petal Promenade Designer paper is very pretty but some of the flowery prints are more than I want as a full background.  Used as an accent the pieces are wonderful.  I used the Puzzle Piece thinlit to cut four pieces from the DSP.  I cut a label with Very Vanilla CS and a framelit from the Foliage Frame set.  The greeting is stamped in Blushing Bride ink and is from the Floral Frames stamp set.  The base card is Lovely Lipstick CS. The second layer is the flip side of DSP from the Tranquil Textures series.  The final layer is Blushing Bride CS which I ran through the Big Shot with the Subtle textured impressions embossing folder.  It is called Subtle because it truly just gives a hint of texture to the cardstock.  This is a really feminine card with the roses and soft colors.  I love it and I hope you do too.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.

Postcard Pals Puzzle

Hi Stampers,

Say that title three times fast!  I am playing with the Puzzle Pieces thinlits.  I always like to try things out before including them in a class.  I wanted to be sure that once the puzzle was cut out it would be thick enough to put back together.  I also wanted the recipient to have a pattern for putting the puzzle together.  For this part I used the embossing mat and the Puzzle Piece thinlit on Whisper White CS.  The debossed side matches the puzzle.  I thought initially that two layers of water color paper would make the best puzzle but after I used water color pencils to color the image from the Post Card Pals stamp set and ran it through the Big Shot four times it just wouldn’t cut through.  That ended up being ok though.  I attached it to a piece of Granny Apple Green CS and then to a 4 inch x 4 inch Pacific Point CS base.  On a piece of heavy Whisper White CS I stamped the image again , colored it with water color pencils and ran it through the Big Shot.  This turns out to be the perfect thickness to recreate the puzzle.  I have a lot more ideas for this thinlit so stay tuned next week for more sharing.  Have a wonderful week end.  Be safe.  Thank you for taking time to stop by.

Graceful Glass

Hi Stampers, Another beautiful, sunny day.  I dread the thought of ice and snow.  I’m going to enjoy every sunny warm day I’m given. A while ago in one of the Paper Pumpkin kits there was a sheet of leaves for the project.  I popped all the leaves off the sheet and used it as a stencil with water color paper and Brusho Crystals.  I set the piece aside and today decided I’d complete a card with it.  I started with a base card of Bermuda Bay CS topped by a piece of the new Granny Apple Green CS. I used Stampin’ Blends to color a piece of the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum.  Beneath the vellum is a piece of Mango Melody CS.  I attached this piece to the water color Brusho piece.  I like the contrast of the two mediums.  Take a peek and let me know what you think.  Thank you so much for stopping by.

Dry Embossing with Thinlits

Hi Stampers, So many new products, so little time.  I’m working on that.  Very soon the Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to order products from the Holiday catalog. From the peeks I’ve seen it won’t disappoint.  I had better get moving on the techniques and products from the annual catalog.  Today I am sharing a technique that will turn any of your framelits into an embossed image instead of a die cut.  You will need the new Big Shot Embossing mat and of course the Big Shot cutting machine. I started with a base card of Soft Sea Foam CS topped by a layer of DSP from the Tea Room specialty series.  I used a piece of Whisper White CS and the Foliage Frame Framelits to emboss the image.  Using the embossing mat the framelits are positioned cutting side up on the CS and run through the Big Shot.  I used the flower and leaf images from the Floral Frames stamp set with Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink inks to add a touch of color.  The greeting is from the same stamp set.  The possibilities are endless with this new product. If you have questions or would like to place an order I would be more than happy to help.  Thank you for sharing a little of your time with me.

Fun Fold and Brusho

Hi Everyone, Summer flowering time is always a happy, busy time for me.  I did find time to meet with my fun loving group and hold a class.  I concentrated on fun fold cards and the use of Brusho.  Most of my group has purchased the Brusho product but after we had the original technique class forgot how versatile the effect can be.  For this card I used the new Granny Apple Green CS as my base. I added a piece of DSP from the Tea Party series.  I stamped the flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set with So Saffron ink.  I fussy cut this image and attached it over a half pearl doily.  I used watercolor paper for the Brusho portion of the card.  I spritzed the paper before sprinkling the Yellow and Moss Green Brusho crystals.  I re-spritzed (not sure that’s a word, but it is now), the paper and tilted and tipped the paper until the colors blended the way I wanted them. I gently blotted the paper.  I used Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the greeting from the Love What You Do stamp set and the leaves are from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set. This piece is adhered to another piece of the Tea Party DSP.  Take a look and let me know what you think.  Thank you for taking time to stop by. I truly appreciate your time and interest.
