Just Plain Relaxing

Hi Stampers,

The third infusion I had 2 weeks ago for RA has kind of kicked my butt.  Nothing compared to the problems many others are carrying so I won’t bore you with details. Suffice it to say some nausea and some fatigue. I have been finding ways to just chill.  I find coloring to be just what I need.  It’s still creative right?  I used the back ordered Stampin’ Blends to color the background of the Petal Passion DSP and then colored in separate blooms from a different piece from the same series.  I fussy cut the blossoms and simply attached them to the background piece.  The base card is Pool Party CS.  Very simple but very fun!

On another subject Sale-a-bration is coming to a quick end on March 31.  There are some awesome choices for freebies in the SAB catalog.  I am sad that they will not be available beyond that date.  Sometimes I wish the really popular items would carry over into the new catalog.  The NEW catalog becomes available June 1st and that too makes me both sad and excited.  Sad because some of my favorites will no longer be there and excited because Stampin’ Up! never disappoints with new products.  So here is today’s card. Take a look and let me know what you think.  Have a wonderful, blessed Easter and thank you for stopping by.

Brusho Crystals and …….

Hi Stampers,

I spent a little free time over the week end being creative.  I am still loving the Brusho Color Crystals.  I haven’t been sleeping well lately and while I am waiting for sleep to find me I have all kinds of ideas floating through my head.  I love how the black Brusho Crystals pop with all different colors.  Kind of like a night sky.  One of the thoughts I had was to try black on black.  I tried the black Brusho Crystals on Basic Black CS.  Nope that didn’t work so I went back to black on Whisper White.  That is the background for this card.  I didn’t feel very ambitious on Friday so I colored multiple images from the Petal Passion DSP.  I fussy cut a few of them and they landed on this card too.  I used Rose Red as the base card and tucked a piece of the black and white Petal Passion DSP behind the background piece.  Here it is.

And that’s our new addition.  Just a mixed breed, three year old that will steal your heart in a minute.  His name is Paxton.

Oh So Eclectic

Hi Friends,

We have decided that our little Terrier,Penny needs a new friend.  We have missed out on three rescues so far but are determined to keep looking.  We are all doing better but you know there was a reason Noah took two of each animal on the ark.  Every being needs one of their kind.

Today I am sharing a card that I CASE’d the sketch for from Michele Reynolds a fellow stamping up demonstrator.  That means I followed her lay out but change things up a bit.  I started with a Pool Party base card.  I stamped a set of leaves from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set with Old Olive ink onto Whisper White CS.  I sponged Peek-a-Boo Peach and just a little Calypso Coral inks on a half doily.  On a separate scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped two flowers from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set with the Peek-a-Boo Peach and Calypso Coral inks.  I used my Stamparatus for the two step flower.  Just wait until you have your own.  You are going to love it.  I fussy cut the two flowers.  There is a coordinating thinlit for this stamp set but I just used my paper snips to cut out the flowers.  One of the DSP series that I really love is the Whole Lot of Lovely series.  I used a piece for a portion of the card front.  I added a piece of ribbon from the Sale-a-bration freebies which accents both the Peek-a-Boo Peach and Calypso Coral inks.  The blossoms were added with dimensionals.  I topped the flowers with green Glitter Enamel dots for a little extra bling.  I hope you enjoy.  Thank you for stopping by. Please don’t hesitate to leave a comment.  I would love to hear from you.

Flying Home

Hi Stampers,

Last week was a total blur.  Our sweet Shih Tzu, Maddie died on Monday, a week from today.  Taking care of her the week before took all my time but she was with us for a long time so it was what I wanted to be doing.  Her illness went very quickly.  Just two weeks from the time we realized she had a brain tumor to the day she passed away.  Last week we were all pretty sad including our young Terrier, Penny.  She is still in the grieving process and needs more attention right now.  I also found out one of the nurses I worked with in Labor and Delivery was recently diagnosed with leukemia.  She lost her husband a year ago and has no children to be with her.  The card I am sharing today was made for her.

I started with a base card of Pool Party CS. I topped that with a piece of retired DSP in the same color.  I stamped the image from the Flying Home stamp set with Memento Black ink on Whisper White CS.  I sponged a Pool Party background for the sky.  The image was colored with Stampin’ Blends.  I stamped the branch from the Best Birds stamp set and used the coordinating thinlit from the Birds and Blooms set to cut it out with the Big Shot.  I added a mock bow with Pool Party ribbon.  I hope this adds a little sunshine to my friend’s day.  Thank you for stopping by and for your patience during the rough spots in my life.
