How to Wrap a Suitcase

Hi Everyone,

Not a card today but a novel idea for wrapping a clumsy gift.  My daughter-in-law wanted a carry on case for Christmas.  Finding the right one wasn’t the problem but how to wrap it without a giant box was a challenge.  My husband and I read the Pickles comic strip every morning and Earl in the comic strip is a bit of a redneck.  His wife was telling him he never wraps her gifts nicely.  He said he used a gift bag.  She mentioned that the gift bag was a garbage bag.  He begged to differ because he said he drew a snowman on the garbage bag so that made it a gift bag.  Well, look what I did to my daughter-in-law’s gift.

May all of you have a peaceful, blessed holiday.  Thank you for the time you take to peek at my little creations.

Thank You Paper Pumpkin

HI stampers,

The holidays are creeping up on us.  We have not had a lot of snow which is deceiving.  Just two weeks and all the shopping should be done, candy and cookies made, tree decorated and Peace on Earth.  I still believe in the old school thank you notes for gifts.  With that in mind I think I’ll be getting a few gifts for Christmas and will need a few thank you cards.  I used the Paper Pumpkin kit to make thank you notes.  I have been making Christmas cards since September so I have plenty of those but the November kit was so sweet I didn’t want to not use it.  That is one of the nice thing about Paper Pumpkin.  If you don’t want to create it as suggested you can turn it into something else.  Sort of like Cinderella changed her pumpkin into a coach!  Take a look and please let me know what you think.

Smitten Mittens

Hi Stampers,

I don’t usually share a card I will be doing in class ahead of time just in case one of the participants are checking out the blog before class.  I know one of my best buds can’t make it to class this week so if she sees this ahead it’s ok.

I can’t believe that soon we will be finishing Christmas cards and moving on to Valentines and then yay Spring.  As I’ve said before I am not a lover of Winter or temperatures below 70 for that matter.  Don’t ask me why I am still living in Wisconsin.  With that said I have another card that doesn’t necessarily have to be Christmas.  You would just need to change the greeting.  If you like mittens you had better hurry and get this set ordered cause it is on the retiring list.  I started with a base card of Real Red CS followed by the next layer of Garden Green CS.  On a piece of Whisper White CS I stamped the snowflakes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set with Real Red and Garden Green inks.  I used four different sizes of the Lots of Labels framelits to cut out Garden Green CS and DSP from the Be Merry series.  I stamped two of the tiny mittens from the Smitten Mitten stamp set and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I added the mittens with dimensionals.  Lots of labels going on here but with the Big Shot and the framelits it was easy to complete.  Take a look.  Let me know what you think and as always thanks for taking time to stop by.

Simply Scraps

Hi Stampers,

I have been busy getting things ready for my last two classes of the year.  I have the last class on Saturday.  It is so hard to choose what cards to make and which will be left behind.  Just a simple card today made mostly from scraps left over from prepping for other classes.  I started with a base card of Night of Navy and added DSP from the Be Merry series.  I die cut several snowflakes for my gals and look what I have left, a nice little snowflake border. I stamped images from past Paper Pumpkin kits on the three square pieces of Whisper White CS.  I colored the holly image with the NEW Stampin’ Blends.  Love them!  I ran the border and the squares through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder then assembled the pieces.  Very quick, very simple but sometimes that’s not a bad thing.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Give a shout out if you comments or questions.
