A Flurry of Wishes

Hi Stampers, I finally have my studio back in order.  Any one who creates any thing, not just paper crafts, knows how messy your work area can get.  I suppose there are those who can be neat and creative, but I’m not one of those.  After I straightened I started messing it up again.  So much fun!  Today I started with a base card of Whisper White CS.  I have left over DSP from the retired Subtles Cardstack.  I used the Soft Sky polka dot paper as a background.  I added Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper cut out with the Swirly Snowflakes thinlits die as a border and then added Bermuda Bay snowflakes also cut out with the Swirling Snowflake dies.  I used the two smaller snowflake dies and the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to cut out accents.  The greeting which is stamped on an oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits set is from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set.  The snowflakes were a little challenging but well worth the effort.  I hope you enjoy today’s share.   Thank you for stopping by.

Smitten Mittens

Hi Stampers,

I had a busy week end with stamp class on Saturday and one of our grandson’s birthday party on Sunday.  Both of these were filled with fun.  Our youngest grandson was teething and not very happy so I walked and hummed him to sleep so the other guests could enjoy the huge buffet everyone had created.  I love comforting babies because little do they know how they are comforting me.  I did create a sweet card that looks like it takes a long time but really doesn’t.

I began with a base card of Cherry Cobbler.  I used the snowflake image from the Smitten Mittens stamp set with Chocolate Chip ink to stamp a background.  On a scrap of Whisper White CS I stamped a mitten from the Smitten Mitten stamp set with Cherry Cobbler ink.  The set includes a variety of cuffs for the mitten.  I stamped a plain cuff and the same snowflake I used on the background on the mitten with Cherry Cobbler ink. I used the Many Mittens Framelits die to cut out the mitten.  I backed a piece of DSP from the Be Merry series with a piece of Garden Green CS.  I used the Cable Knit 3D Dynamic Impressions embossing folder with a piece of Garden Green CS.  I cut the piece into a border.   I used the Stitched Shapes framelits circle die to cut a circle of Garden Green CS.  I punched a circle of Garden Green CS with the 1 3/8 inch punch and topped that with a 1 1/4 inch circle of Whisper White CS with the greeting from the Christmas Happiness stamp set.  I nested two of the circles from the Layering Circles framelits to cut out the Crumb Cake circle and frame..  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting and the mitten. Three single sequins topped with a teeny tiny pearl finish the embellishing.  Let me know what you think.  I would love to hear your comments.  Thank you for taking time from your busy schedules to stop by.

‘Tis the Season

Hi Stampers,

I have been getting ready for a class this week so I have been pretty busy.  I try to prepare as much for the ladies as possible.  I had a few cards that required quite a bit of Big Shot work.  My rheumatologist asked me what repetitive action I am doing that is making my joints ache more.  I don’t think she’d understand if I said using the Big Shot lol!  My share today is very simple but the use of the DSP makes it fun just the same.  I used a base card of Garden Green CS.  The top portion of the card is DSP from the Be Merry series.  The bottom portion is also from that series.  Once again the printed two sided paper makes life easier.  I used the Triple Banner punch to cut the Garden Green banner and topped that with  a label using the Everyday Label Punch.  The greeting is from the Oh, What Fun stamp set.  I adhered it with dimensionals.  You could easily take this card to the next level by adding gemstones and ribbon but I was looking for fast and easy.  That’s it for today.  I’m working on a few more intricate designs so stop back on Monday to see how I did.  Have a blessed weekend and as always thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday

Hi Stampers,

Over the weekend our son-in-law had a birthday.  I made his birthday card with a Fall theme.  He is into running and gaming but since I don’t have any running or video game stamps I settled for beautiful Fall leaves.  I started with Whisper White CS.  I used an aqua painter with alcohol and Peek – a- Boo Peach ink to create the initial background.  I added the splatter with the an image from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set and Crumb Cake ink.  I stamped the leaf and acorn images from the Count My Blessings stamp set with Memento Black ink.  I used the large Maple leaf from the Paper Pumpkin kit as the center image.  I used the Stampin’ Blends to color in the images.  I used both the light and dark Calypso Coral and the dark Daffodil Delight on the Oak leaves.  I used just the light and dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends on the large Maple leaf.  The acorns were colored with the Light Crumb Cake and the Bronze Blends.  I really loved creating this card and my son-in-law, Jeramie seemed to like it too.  He is very artistic so I appreciate his opinion.  I am so hooked on these Blends.  You can get your on November 1 ! Yay!  If you would like to order yours you can do so right here on my blog. Let me know if you have questions or comments.

Pale Pumpkin

Hi Stampers,

I had ideas for this card for awhile now.  Our Farmer’s Market has an array of pumpkins right now and I’m always fascinated with the white ones.  I created my pumpkin with Very Vanilla CS and the Layering Ovals framelits.  The stem is hand cut from Old Olive CS.  It looked too perfect and flat so I misted it and crumpled it then attached it to the pumpkin.  I used the Mayflowers, Swirly Scribbles and Patterned Pumpkins thinlits to cut out the accent pieces from Gold Foil, Old Olive and Peek -a- Boo Peach CS.  I stamped the Sunflower from the Painted Harvest stamp set with Marina Mist ink onto the pumpkin.  I sponged the lower edges of the pumpkin and the Very Vanilla background piece with Smoky Slate ink and adhered it to the Marina Mist base card.  Take a peek and let me know what you think.  I welcome your comments.  Thanks for stopping by.
