Not Your Classic Christmas

Hi Stampers,

My favorite color is green and of the greens lime green is my very favorite.  I wanted to use the Feeling of Christmas stamp set wreath image but I didn’t want to make a classic Christmas card.  I decided to use Bermuda Bay and Lemon-Lime Twist inks.  I started with the base card of Bermuda Bay CS followed by a layer of Lemon-Lime Twist CS.  On the Whisper White layer I stamped the wreath image with Old Olive ink.  I did not feel like color all of the leaves individually so I used a dauber with Old Olive ink to fill in the leaves.  I used Garden Green ink to accent the Old Olive ink   I used tiny punched circles of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to cover the larger berries on the wreath.  I know the picture just doesn’t pick up all the details but they look slick on the card.  I used Bermuda Bay ink and then over stamped with Lemon-Lime Twist ink for the greeting.  The greeting is from the Ready for Christmas stamp set.  I used the Decorative Ribbon Border to create the accent strips.  This wreath could be used throughout the year and would be especially nice as a Fall wreath so that may be up next.  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your time.

Deer Christmas

Hi Stampers,

Stampin’Up! has a special offer for any hostess whose order meets the qualifications.  The stamp set is the Merry Patterns set.  One of the images is a deer in a patterned sweater.  I used it along with some left over parts from other cards to create today’s share.  I know everyone has a single guy on their Christmas card list.  This card would be perfect for that fellow.  I started with a base card of Cherry Cobbler CS followed by a piece of DSP from the Be Merry series..  I used the snowflake dies from the Seasonal Layers thinlits set to cut out the snowflakes that I added with dimensionals (the mini ones) .  The tree is cut using the die from the Card Front Builders thinlits set.  I sponged Crumb Cake ink on the bottom portion of the scalloped circle and Pool Party ink on the top. I used Soft Suede ink to stamp the reindeer.  This special offer for this stamp set ends October 31 so if you really love this deer, (the other images in the set are awesome too)  gather your friends, send me a message and I’ll help you get an order together.

Autumn Wreath

Hi Stampers,

I love the crisp, colored, leaves of Fall.  Caramel apples and comfy sweaters.  I only wish I could stop the calendar from moving from this month.  I dread the cold of Winter.  So loving Fall and the warm colors I had to make this pretty little wreath.  I started with a piece of Very Vanilla CS. I used the Hardwood stamp and Crumb Cake ink for the background.  I used scraps of Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze and Old Olive CS and the Seasonal Layers thinlits to cut out the little leaves.  When I finished assembling the wreath there was just something missing so I stamped a few acorns from the Painted Harvest stamp set and fussy cut them.  I think they were the perfect touch.  I added a twine bow as the only accent.  The greeting is stamped with Old Olive ink and is from the Best Birds stamp set.  Take a look and let me know what you think.  I appreciate any feedback.

Happy Halloween Shaving Creme

Hi Stampers,

I am back.  Dave’s (my sweetest hubby) surgery went well.  It was more complicated than anticipated.  It took five hours instead of the two and one half predicted.  Needless to say I was a bucket of nerves and a few tears to go with.  The nurses were fantastic and kept me updated the entire time.  When they said they called in a second surgeon I internally panicked just a bit.  That’s what happens when you’re an RN and have enough knowledge to scare yourself.  Anyway he is home and doing well.  I finally had time to be a little creative.  I chose a Halloween card for today’s share.  I started with a base card of Cajun Craze CS.  The second layer is Very Vanilla CS.  On a separate piece of Very Vanilla CS I used Black reinker and Peek-a-Boo Peach reinker with shaving cream to create the background.  I used images from the Spooky Cat stamp set and the Colorful Seasons stamp set to complete the picture.  I’m happy with how this turned out. Let me know what you think and as always thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by.l

Happy Birthday Masculine

Hi Stampers,

I can’t promise when I will be posting again.  My husband’s kidney surgery is tomorrow and it will depend how well he does.  I do have a masculine birthday card to share with you today.  I made this for my step son’s birthday.  I started with a base card of Cajun Craze CS  The next layer is Tangerine Tango CS. I added a wide strip of DSP from the Painted Autumn series.  I used the Leaflet Framelits to cut two oak leaves, one from Crushed Curry and one from Tangerine Tango.  I used Cajun Craze CS and the Happy Birthday thinlit to cut out the greeting.  I attached the CS to the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet before cutting it with the thinlit.  This made it really easy to attach to the card front.  I want to say thank you for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy today’s offering.
