The Positive Side

Hi Stampers,

Yesterday I told you about a card that happenend accidently.  That card showed the negative side of a image from the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits.  Today I am sharing the positive side.  I mistakenly cut the Dragonfly images on the flip side of the Self Adhesive sheet so not wanting to waste it I embossed it with Gold embossing powder .  I attached it to yesterday’s card but then removed it giving the negative impression.  After I had peeled off the embossed image I thought let’s use this on another card.  I embossed the dot image from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set with Gold embossing powder on Basic Black CS.  I attached the Self Adhesive embossed Dragonfly image to the CS.  I attached this panel to a piece of gold metallic/Pacific Blue DSP from the Eastern Palace Specialty DSP series.  The final step was adhering it to the base card of Pacific Point CS.  So I created two cards out of one mistake.

Thank you for taking time to stop by for a peek.

Surprise!

Hi Stampers,

Today’s card came about via a mistake.  I was cutting materials for my upcoming class.  I was using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits and the Self Adhesive Sheets.  I mistakenly put the thinlit on the Self Adhesive side instead of the Card Stock side.  That left an indentation instead of the correct die cut dragonfly.  I wasn’t about to waste it.  I thought why not emboss over it then no one will see the wrong side.  Once I had embossed it on the card front I thought what would happen if I peeled it off.  So I did.  This is the card that evolved.  I began with a piece of Thick Whisper White CS.  I washed Pool Party ink for a background.  Next I used the dots from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp set and Gold embossing powder and then Black Archival ink to enhance the background.  I attached the Self Adhesive backed Dragonfly die and covered it with Versamark.  I then heavily embossed this with Gold embossing powder.  Then I peeled off the Dragonfly and look what was left.

Scraps Can Be Pretty Too

Hi Stampers,

I am prepping for a class coming up next week.  I found myself with a handful of strips from the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.  There were just too many to toss.  I decided to see what I could come up with using the left overs.  I started with a base card of Soft Sky CS followed with a Pear Pizzazz CS panel.  I lined up three strips of the DSP then topped them with a flower from the Falling Flowers stamp set stamped with Soft Sky ink on Soft Sky CS and cut out with the May Flowers framelit die. I also added two berry accents stamped on Pear Pizzazz CS.  I used the Pretty Label punch and Soft Sky CS to create the label for the greeting.  For starting out with bits and pieces I think it turned out pretty cute.  Take a peek.

Self Adhesive and Glossy Paper

Hi Stampers, I wanted to try something new today so what better way then to use two new Stampin’ Up! products. I started with a base card of the new in-color Fresh Fig CS.  On a piece of the new Glossy White CS I daubered Sweet Sugarplum ink then  used a cotton ball to blend with alcohol (the rubbing kind).  It muted the background just as I wanted.  Next I used Fresh Fig ink and the greeting from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and the dots from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set on the background.  I attached the dragonflies cut from Fresh Fig CS and the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits with the new Self Adhesive sheets.  I’m loving these.  All together the new products made this a simple creation that turned out pretty much the way I had planned.  Take a look and see what you think.

Sharing Sweet Thoughts

Hi Stampers, I have found that nothing makes me forget troubles and worries like creating. I get lost in what I’m making and end up in my happy place.  Today’s card came together easily thanks to some awesome Stampin’ Up! products.  I started with a base card of Whisper White CS.  I used Bermuda Bay ink to stamp the jar image from the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set.  I created a mask for the jar using the Everyday Jar thinlits.  With the mask in place I stamped the flower image from the Flirty Flower stamp set with Melon Mambo ink.  I used the strawberry image from the Sharing Sweet Thoughts set and Memento Black ink on the inside of the jar.  I water colored this with Old Olive stems and Real Red ink for the berries.  On a scrap piece of Whisper White CS I stamped the butterfly images with Bermuda Bay ink.  They are also part of the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set.  I fussy cut them and adhered them to the card with dimensionals.  I’m loving the new mini dimensionals!  The greeting is stamped on a piece punched with the Classic Label punch.  This came together pretty quickly but was peaceful for my anxious feelings.  We are still in limbo with hubby’s diagnosis. Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate you taking time from your day to take a peek.
