Happy Birthday Fun Foam

Hi Stampers,

I have mentioned a fellow demonstrator, Billie Moan in the past.  She always has something exciting to share.  I sort of CASE’d this card from her but she went into more detail than I did.  I didn’t have the patience to put all the pieces back together.  You’ll see what I mean when you see the card.  I started with a base card of Pink Pirouette .  On a separate sheet of Whisper White CS I stamped images from the Birthday Blooms, Awesomely Artistic and Timeless Textures stamp sets.  I used Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Old Olive and Crumb Cake inks.  I used the Happy Birthday thinlit to cut out the center of the stamped CS.  I used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets and fun foam to back the Happy Birthday I had just cut out.  Even though I didn’t put all the pieces back I still like the effect. I have a bunch of new techniques I’m anxious to try so stop back tomorrow to see what’s up.

Embossing Paste

Hi Stampers,

Have you tried the new embossing paste from Stampin’Up!?   I’ve been playing with it and trying different ways of using it.  I wanted to see if it could be stamped on.  I started with a base card of Lemon-Lime Twist CS.  I used a retired dot mask to create the large dots to the left of the card.  After it dried I stamped a small image from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set with Tempting Turquoise ink onto the embossing paste.  Now that I know it works I have plans to do a larger area.  I have a ton of stencils from past experiences and I know they will work great with the paste.  Getting back to the card.  I stamped an image from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set onto Whisper White CS.  It is a two step stamp. I used Pool Party and Tempting Turquoise for the flower and Old Olive for the leaves.  I sponged the edges with Tempting Turquoise ink and adhered it to a piece of the same color CS.  Just a little experiment.  I hope you give the embossing paste a try and see what you can come up with. Don’t forget I will be happy to help you in any way with your order. Thanks for stopping by.

Special Birthday

Hi Stampers,

My neighbor is turning 80 in a week.  Most people who see her guess her to be in her 60’s.  She has no health issues requiring medication and she has more energy than that little pink bunny with the drum.  Her back yard looks like it comes out of HGTV and she can build anything you can imagine.  Her entire life revolved around various kitchens from restaurants to banquets so I thought the chef scene using the Birthday Delivery stamp set was appropriate for her card.

I started with a base card of Whisper White CS.. I used the Brick Wall Textured Impressions embossing folder for the background and used a brayer with Crumb Cake ink to add a touch of color.  I used the Hearth and Home thinlits and the Wood Textures DSP stack to create the window frame.  I stamped the chef and the cake with Memento Black ink on a separate piece of Whisper White CS that fit behind the window. I used a blender pen and various inks to color in the images.  I used the Birthday Friends framelits to cut out the little girl.  I added her to the card with dimensionals.  I had so much fun with this card especially because I know it will be appreciated.

On another note if I am missing posts it may be because my hubby is having some health issues and we have not gotten all the testing done and all the answers yet.  Sometimes being a nurse isn’t such a good thing.  Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for stopping by.

Lots of Fussy Cutting

Hi Stampers,

I fell in love with the Birthday Memories DSP when I first saw it at On Stage.  One of the make and takes was done with the stamp set Birthday Delivery and the DSP.  At first glance it may look like it is geared toward juvenile birthday cards but when you look a little closer you can see many other possibilities.  I just love the little characters and that’s what I chose to create this card.  I started with a base card of Real Red CS. I folded over a one inch flap and covered that with a strip of DSP from the same series the Birthday Memories.  I fussy cut the Bear and Balloons, Squirrel, Raccoon and presents.  The bear is attached to a white oval cut out with the Big Shot and the Layering Oval framelits. The squirrel is attached to the fold.  The little horn blowing raccoon is tucked inside.  Take a look. As always I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Hi Stampers,

This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit screams Summer.  It has a watermelon theme.  There’s nothing like a sweet, juicy, watermelon on a hot summer day.  I decided to take the front of the note card in the kit and attach it to a Calypso Coral base card.  The kit also has small pieces with swatches of bold yellow with a water color look.  I rounded the corners of this piece and attached it to the print paper.  I stamped the watermelon image on a separate piece of Whisper White CS with Calypso Coral and Emerald Envy ink.  I fussy cut the melon and added it to the front of the card with dimensionals.  The kit also included banners on which I stamped the greeting with Calypso Coral ink.  Take a peek and let me know what you’re thinking.
