Hi Stampers,
I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful week end weather we have had. I spent every non rainy minute in my flowers. I finally have the palette aka flower beds ready for the artistry to begin. During the brief time on Sunday that we had rain and until the ground was dry enough to work in I made time for stamping. Our team meeting is in a week and there are 28 gals attending. We do a swap as part of our meeting. Let me tell you I bore easily when I have to make multiples of the same card. I wanted something simple but yet creative. The hostess set Tranquil Tulips in the NEW catalog which releases on June 1 is a favorite of mine so that’s what I used to make the swap card.
I started with the base card of Lemon-Lime Twist CS. I used Lemon-Lime Twist ink to stamp the smaller tulip image from the set as a background. Next I used a piece of the new Berry Burst CS to frame a piece of water color paper. I spritzed the water color paper just once with water then stamped the larger tulip image with Berry Burst ink. The stem and leaves are Pear Pizzazz ink. On another scrap of water color paper I stamped the medium sized tulip image with the Berry Burst ink and fussy cut it. I adhered it to the larger tulip with a dimensional. I love the new in-color inks and the combinations you can create with them. Take a look and let me know what you’re thinking.

Hi Stampers,
A few days ago I shared a post with a technique that was new to me. Today I have another version of the same technique. I inked a 5x7 inch glass with Pear Pizzazz ink. I used a paint brush to do a quick design then pressed a piece of Whisper White CS onto the glass. The result was the background on this card. I sponged the edges with Bermuda Bay ink and used that same color ink to stamp a dragonfly from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and the abstract dots from the same set with Bermuda Bay ink as well. I adhered this piece to a layer of DSP from the Color Theory Series. This was then attached to the Pear Pizzazz base card. I still have not perfected this technique. I have more I want to try with it. Hopefully the results are good and I can share them with you.

Hi Stampers,
I tried to post a few days ago but unfortunately I had computer issues that never resolved so today I decided to scrap the post and start again. I truly apologize for the gap in posting.
Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday. It was a milestone birthday and now she feels “old”. I didn’t want to make her cranky by making a dark dismal “now you’re 40” birthday card so I made a soft, feminine, cheery card instead.
The base card is Pink Pirouette CS. I ran a piece of Whisper White CS through the Big Shot with the Fluttering Textured Embossing folder. I used a brayer and the new Powder Pink ink to give those butterflies some soft color. I used the new Daisy punch to punch out two daisies from Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper. I used a piece of the pretty pink glitter paper from this year’s Sale-a-bration with the Bold Butterfly framelits for the glitzy butterfly. I attached all pieces with dimensionals. In the center of the daisy is a new Glitter Enamel Dot. We have received word that these are on backorder but Stampin’ Up! is doing it’s best to get them back in and ready to order as soon as they can. My daughter loved the card and I hope you do too. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Stampers,
I had a fun week end stamping with my group. So many laughs you wouldn’t believe. This group is great therapy. I wanted to try a new technique I came upon last week but didn’t have time to play around with it until tonight. I still am going to be working the kinks out but I thought I’d show you what I have so far.
I started by inking up the glass from a 5 x 7 picture frame with Pear Pizzazz ink. Next I used the leaves from the Remarkable You stamp set and pressed it onto the glass. Then I used a piece of Whisper White CS and pressed that onto the glass. The leaf image was very faint. That’s the part I have to perfect yet. I didn’t want to waste the background and I still think it is a neat concept so I used Garden Green ink to re-stamp the same leaves onto the background and added little Berry Burst flowers from the Touches of Texture stamp set. I adhered this to the Pear Pizzazz base card. I want to try other alterations to the background so you’ll be seeing those in the next few days. Thank you as always for taking the time to stop by. I so appreciate your support.
