One More Autumn Card

Hey Stampers,

I only have a few more days to share some Autumn cards with you.  Monday is the last day of October and after that it’s fast forward to Christmas.  Tomorrow I have a group of stampers doing the Tin of Tags workshop.  In prepping the class I found these tags could be used for much more than the holidays. If you haven’t ordered yours yet you might want to check it out.  You can order 24/7 right here on my blog.

So for today’s share I had to use those cute little scarecrows just one more time from the Halloween Cookie Cutter stamp set.  I paired them with the Halloween Night DSP.  The checked piece of DSP behind the scarecrows is the flip side of the pumpkin strip on the front of the card.  One of the biggest reasons why Stampin’Up! is such a great company. They know it is hard to please everyone so they double side the DSP.  Chances are great that if you do not like one side you will love the other side.  The scarecrows are colored with a blender pen and Emerald Envy, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie inks.  Check it out….

A Collage of Sorts

Hey Stampers,

Kinda frosty here in Wisconsin this morning at 4:30 when Dave and I walked the dogs.  I know, who goes to work at 4:30 in the morning right? The answer is the seafood guru.  That would be my hubby.  He has been doing this all his life but even when I lived on the farm we didn’t get up that early.  It has warmed up a little bit but not enough for me.

Fall is still one of my favorite seasons so I started this card with only the sunflowers from a Paper Pumpkin kit.  It quickly evolved into what you’re about to see.  The sunflowers were lost so I added leaves and bees and abstract images from the Kinda Eclectic, Touches of Texture and Butterfly Basics stamp sets. I used Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive inks.  The edges are sponged with Delightful Dijon ink. I did add Wink of Stella clear to the bee’s wings.  Those of you who know me well know that this is how I am.  I’m not about everything matching.  I love to mix the old with the new and Vintage is probably my favorite.  Hope you like today’s offering.

Penned and Painted Birthday Blooms

Hi Stampers,

Recently I saw a Christmas card with a seasonal scene inside.  It folded to the center and had a Christmas tree stamped over the center.  I didn’t want to CASE it exactly, but liked the idea so I went with a non seasonal theme instead.  I started with a So Saffron base card.  I stamped a background with Delightful Dijon ink and an image from the Posies and Paisleys stamp set.  I used an Aqua Painter and Daffodil Delight ink to color in the bloom from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  The leaves are Old Olive.  On the inside on Whisper White CS I used the Penned and Painted stamp set to create a bouquet of blooms.  I used the three step approach with Peek-a-boo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral and two more blooms with So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.  I added a little lady bug just because.  Just because I had a spot of ink I needed to cover up.  Remember what stampers say ” there’s no mistakes, just opportunities for creativity.”  I used Delightful Dijon ribbon to secure the card instead of a belly band.  Take a look and tell me what you think.

The Traveler for a Special Birthday

Hi Stampers,

Tomorrow is a very special birthday for a very special person.  My son-in-law has a milestone birthday.  I won’t say how old he will be but I’m hoping he enjoys the card and gifts we have for him.  I made his card with the Traveler stamp set.  I had seen a similar card on Pinterest a while ago.  I had to do the measuring and cutting dimensions but I think it came together pretty well.  I used Garden Green CS as my base.  I used the Brick Wall embossing folder and Whisper White CS for the top layer.  I used the layering ovals to cut two ovals, one from the Whisper White and one from a Garden Green piece of CS. On another piece of Whisper White I sponged Old Olive and stamped the trees from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set also in Old Olive. This was adhered to the Garden Green piece with the oval cut out.  I stamped two Evergreen trees from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set with Garden Green ink and a train from the Traveler stamp set in Basic gray ink.  I fussy cut these three pieces and added them to the card with dimensionals.  It really gives a great 3D effect.   So Happy Birthday Jeramie.  Here’s your card.

Banners for Christmas Water Color

Hi Stampers,

Today is a warm, sunny 68 degrees.  If you live in Wisconsin you will take every warm day you are given.  It made it a little hard to create today’s share because I wasn’t thinking Christmas. Time is flying by and before you know it Christmas will be here and gone. With that said I started with a base card of Garden Green, followed by DSP from the Warmth and Cheer stack.  The wonky angle took a little doing.  I know it looks really simple but it took a bit of measuring to border the watercolor paper with the Cherry Cobbler CS.  I brayered the water color paper with Pear Pizazz ink after lightly spritzing it with water.  It was almost completely dry when I stamped the Banners for Christmas image with Garden Green ink.  Next I used Emerald Envy to water color the image.  If you don’t over do the water your image will stay perfectly intact.  I used the Cherry Cobbler Stamp n Write marker to color in the berries.  The accent image is stamped with Garden Green and is also a part of the Banners for Christmas stamp set.   Take a look and let me know what you’re thinking.  I greatly appreciated you taking the time to stop by.
