Flourishing Phrases

Hi Stampers,

Tomorrow is a big day for paper crafters.  It’s World Card Making Day.  I plan on making cards all day. You know like a mini vacation.  We’ll see how far my plans take me.  For today I have a simple card but so much fun to create.  I started with a base card of Rich Razzleberry and next the Sweet Sugarplum CS that is new for this year.  It was to boring with just those two colors so I added a piece of DSP from the Serene Scenery paper stack.  That was exactly what I needed to pull in a third color.  I stamped the flourish from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Memento Black ink then watercolored the image with Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry inks.  The leaves are Old Olive.  Still not right so I added tiny images from the Paisleys and Posies stamp set in Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate inks.  Sponging the edges with Crumb Cake totally finished it.   Take a look and let me know what you think.  As always thanks so much for stopping.

Cookie Cutter Halloween

Hi Stampers,

I have been itching to use this little scarecrow stamp from the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set.  Finally had a chance.  Every time I opened the bin with my green cardstock these two greens just looked so nice together so that is the base for this card.  Wasabi Green CS is the card itself then a layer of Emerald Envy.  I used a new sponge brayer and Delightful Dijon ink to sponge the Whisper White CS.  The wheat like images are from the Grateful For You stamp set.  I spritzed the image after inking with Delightful Dijon and Daffodil Delight inks I colored in the little scarecrow with Wild Wasabi and Peek a Boo Peach.  A few of the patches are Flirty Flamingo.  I adhered the cutie with dimensionals.  I like the softer pastel look for this piece.   Here’s my share.

Pumpkin Card and Matching Magnet

Hi Stampers,

Finally I have the project completed I have been working on.  I used the layered oval framelits to cut out two large and three smaller ovals from Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango CS.  I also cut one large oval and three small ones from the backing of a DSP series.  The cardboard piece.  I used patterned paper from the Halloween Night Specialty DSP to cut three smaller ovals.  I stamped the leaves from a hostess stamp set Fabulous Flora with Always Artichoke ink on Old Olive CS.  I fussy cut them and attached them behind the ovals which form the pumpkin.  The card does not have the cardboard backing on the pumpkin but the magnet does.  The other difference is the card’s pumpkin has a twisted piece of linen thread and the magnet has twisted copper wire.  This way the card is still mail friendly.  I used Delightful Dijon as the card base.  I stamped the flourish from the Timeless Textures stamp set on the card’s pumpkin with Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze ink.  The background on the Old Olive CS layer is also from the Timeless Textures stamp set. The accent piece is from the Fruit Stand DSP series.  The banner is from Old Olive CS and the greeting is from the Acorny Thank You stamp set.   Here goes. Take a look.

Do the Tango

Hi Stampers,

I finished part of the project I wanted to share with you today.  I’ll post the remainder tomorrow.  Hope you enjoy what I did manage to finish.  I started with a base card of Old Olive CS.  The second layer is a color that seems to get ignored by me until Autumn when it really doesn’t have to.  It is Tangerine Tango.  I smudged Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze inks onto my craft sheet then spritzed them with water 3 or 4 times. I used images from the Lovely as A Tree and Vintage Leaves stamp sets.  I stamped and stamped off with the ink and images until I got the combination I was trying to achieve.  I stamped the images on shimmery white CS.  I used the layering ovals framelits to cut out the Old Olive and Shimmery White ovals.  On the white oval I used an image from the September Paper Pumpkin kit stamped with Archival Black ink.  I used the same smudged inks to color in the image.  The grunge dots are of course from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I smile every time I use this set because the very first time I used it when it was first introduced the class participants hated it.  It didn’t take them long to love the distressed, grungy look that has always been my favorite.  Now all the members of my class owns this set. Imagine that!  The brown string is also a part of the September Paper Pumpkin kit.  I just thought it finished things off nicely.  See what you think.
