Last of the Retiring

Hi Stampers,

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!  The new catalog products are available to everyone.  Check it out right here and let me know if you have questions or need a demonstrator to help get you started.  I truly love what I am doing and doing what I love.  That goes for my job too.  I work with Senior clients who need something extra to remain in their own homes.  Some times the hours are more than I bargain for but I am so close to my clients that it really doesn’t matter.

I thought I would do one last card with retired products.  I used the Nice Cuppa stamp set and Have a Cuppa DSP.  The base card is Daffodil Delight.  The greeting is over-stamped with Daffodil Yellow and Cucumber Crush.  The lemons are Daffodil Yellow.  Check it out.  Let me know what you think.

Paper Pumpkin Altered

Hi Stampers,

Well I didn’t make it yesterday but I do have another reason why you should subscribe to Paper Pumpkin.  Life’s been a little hectic lately and my Paper Pumpkin just happened to be in my mailbox at the right time.  I took some of the components of this month’s kit and poof just like that I had a card.  Take a look.

The die cut card base and the corrugated  orange behind it have already been supplied by the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I used images and a greeting from the Helping Me Grow stamp set with Mint Macaron and Peekaboo Peach ink and a flower punched twice with the Petite Petals punch from a scrap of paper for the blossom as accents.  Three tiny pearls complete the card.  So nice to have all the pieces ready when you want to create but time is a factor.  Paper Pumpkin rocks!

As always I want you to know how much I appreciate the time you take to stop by my blog.  I hope you are having as much fun looking as I am blogging.

Easy but Appealing

Hi Stampers,

Sorry for the lapse in posting but there are only so many hours in a day and a week.  I have been working extra cause a special client of mine needs extra help right now and in my book people always come first.  Then there is my gardening passion.  In Wisconsin the time is short for nice sunny weather.  Dave and I take advantage of all the time we can squeeze out in the flower beds.  Once the prepping and planting is finished we can sit back and enjoy but we are in full planting mode right now.  I was able to manage having a stamp class this past Saturday.  They were all experienced stampers so everything went smoothly.  This is one of the cards we made.  I CASE’d the idea from Maria Pane but changed it up quite a bit.  The base card is Melon Mambo followed by a layer of Whisper White CS.  I used the NEW square frames thinlits to cut out the squares from Basic Black CS and DSP from the Pretty Petals stack.  The new squares are awesome.  There are 15 in the set.  We used Old Olive CS and the retiring Bird Builder punch for the branches.  The butterflies are from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set punch with the Bitty Butterfly and regular Butterfly punches.  Three gemstones form the body.  The greeting is also from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set in Archival Black ink.   Take a peek.  Let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be patient with me.  Hope to be back tomorrow.

Good Morning Stampers,

I hope everyone had a relaxing week end.  I had a wonderful week end but it was too cold to do any gardening.  I went shopping with my daughter.  We weren’t shopping for clothes though.  Her husband had to work so she took me along to go house shopping.  Their current house wasn’t on the market even a week.  It was fun looking at all the new styles.  Our house was built in 1946.  It is like a cottage and that’s exactly what we wanted but so different from what young couples are looking for today.  She and her husband went back yesterday to the top contenders.  I hope they reach a decision soon cause there’s no room in this inn!

I did have time to play with some of the new products.  I love the new in colors.  The Emerald Envy that I used for the base card is especially nice.  I paired it with a piece of DSP from the Affectionately Yours Series and the Playful Palette washi tape.  I was going through some of my older techniques and came across this one called Pointillism.  The images are colored with tiny dots from a marker.  Take a look at the card to see what I mean.

I used images from the Garden In Bloom stamp set and the greeting from the Picture Perfect stamp set.  The flower is colored with Flirty Flamingo (NEW) and the center with Peekaboo Peach (NEW)  The leaves and stem are the Emerald Envy.  The butterfly is colored with Crushed Curry and outlined in Chocolate Chip.  What do you think?  I’m liking it.

Thank you as always for taking the time to stop and visit.

Sweet, Soft and Simple

Hi Stampers,

This has so far been a week I don’t want to repeat in the near future.  I knew I was working twice the hours I usually do but I didn’t plan and getting hit the flu bug.  I worked Monday my usual hours. Yesterday I spent the day on the couch with 7 UP and crackers. I couldn’t make it to work.  I did have good company though.  My daughter and her husband are selling their home and shopping for a new one.  Of course their pets can’t be visible during a showing so I had their two doxies and two kitties for the day yesterday.  I did not feel much like playing so we just hung out together.  They are very familiar with me because I check on them every day while my daughter is at work.  So everyone is comfortable visiting Grammie.

I have been wanting to try this technique called Tile Grid for a few weeks now.  I started with a piece of Whisper White CS scored diagonally in both directions.  This is a similar effect created by a embossing folder.  I sponged Bermuda Bay ink over the raised area.  I stamped So Saffron and Calypso Coral flowers from the bonus Paper Pumpkin stamp set.  The centers are reverse color of the flower.  The leaves and stems are Pear Pizzazz ink. The swoosh is also from the same stamp set and is stamped with Bermuda Bay stamped off once.  The edges are sponged with So Saffron.  I adhered the stamped piece to the tile grid piece and then to the base card of Daffodil Delight.   I love the soft look of this card.  It was very simple to create but so sweet.  Take a peek and let me know if you have any questions or comments.  I would love to hear from you.
