Cozy Christmas

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is recuperated from Thanksgiving.  It was wonderful to have our entire family together for the first time in a very long time.  Not sure who was more stuffed the guests or the turkey.  I love to cook the Thanksgiving meal.  It brings back so many memories.

Today I decided to create something with just a little vintage feel to it.  I used Garden Green CS as the base followed by a piece from the Merry Moments DSP stack.  The strip beneath the label is from the flip side of the same paper.  I used the Lots of Labels framelits die to cut out the medium sized label from Very Vanilla CS,  I sponged the entire label lightly with Pear Pizzazz ink and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.  The greeting is from the Cozy Christmas stamp set and is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink.  I stamped two of the bell images in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla, colored them with Stamp n' Write markers and fussy cut them. I used Gold Glitz dazzling details on the bell ringers and a tiny bit on the leaves. Three green Home for Christmas enamel dots are the only other embellishment.  I hope you enjoy. Take a peek….

Festive Flower

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I spent over two hours searching for my Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks.  I have EVERYTHNING in my studio somewhere!  I finally gave up and by then I was off to work and missed my time for creating.  So today I masked with Painter's Tape.  Take a peek.

The base card is Real Red CS.  On heavy weight Whisper White CS I masked off striped areas with painter's tape. I added several drops of Cherry Cobbler Reinker to my Stampin' Spritzer with regular rubbing alcohol.  If I kept looking for those darn masks I would probably used Vodka!!  I spritzed the cardstock and removed the tape.  I added a few spatters with the nearly empty Spritzer.  I used the 1/8 inch red striped ribbon to circle the Spritzed Cardstock.  The Festive Flower Builder Punch and Red Foil paper was used to create the shiny poinsettia.  I used Gold Foil for the leaves.  The center is a Home for Christmas Enamel dot.  The greeting is from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set. I think the simplicity of the background makes the poinsettia the star of the show.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving so I want to thank everyone who checks in on my blog whenever you can and to my faithful stamp campers. To anyone who offers me inspiration and encouragement a huge thank you.  I will be spending the next four days with family so have a Happy Thanksgiving, be safe and be grateful.

Versatile Vellum

Hi Everyone,

I promised an offering for Monday and I have five hours to honor that promise.  I'm sorry it is so late it's been one of those Mondays.  I thought once a person retires they are not suppose to have any more Monday Mondays.  So here goes.  Tell me what you think.

I started with a base card of Blackberry Bliss followed by a layer of Old Olive CS.  I used Blackberry Bliss ink and the snowflakes from the Snow Place stamp set to stamp onto the Old Olive CS. I covered this layer with a piece of Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum with silver snowflakes.  I stamped a tree from the Peaceful Pines stamp set with Old Olive ink and sponged the edges with the same ink. I also highlighted the tree with Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details. A strip of designer series paper and iced rhinestone embellishments are the only accents.  I apologize for the shadow behind the card.  Like I said, it's late but I kept my promise.  Tomorrow will be better.

Freddy Penguin

Hi Everyone,

I know it's late on a Friday but I wanted to show you this cute card inspired by Diana Gibbs.  Thanks Diana. I call this guy Freddy cause he reminds me of a distinguished gentleman dancer like Fred Astaire.  His top hat and candy cane and little black bow tie are just too darn cute.  Take a look.

The base card is Real Red cardstock. On the Whisper White layer I stamped snowflakes from the Snow Place stamp set with Pacific Point ink.  The strip of DSP is from the Home for Christmas designer series. I stamped the greeting from the Snow place stamp set in Real Red ink on Whisper White CS.  The greeting is longer horizontally than I wanted so I stamped the "Let It" and then the "Snow" separately.  I used the Decorative Label punch to punch out the greeting.  Now for Mr. Penguin.  I stamped the penguin from the Snow Place stamp set with Black Archival ink.  I colored the beak and feet with a Stamp n Write marker.  I cut the top hat and bow tie with Black Glimmer paper and the coordinating framelit dies from the Snow Place bundle.  I punched tiny dots with Red Foil Paper and attached them with the fine tip glue pen to the bow tie and the hat.  The candy cane was stamped on Whisper White CS with Real Red ink and cut out with the matching framelit die.  Everything is adhered to the DSP with Tombow multi purpose glue.  The Black Glitter paper really snaps off camera.  It's just hard to get the full effect in a picture.  Trust me. Try it. You'll see.

Another Cozy Christmas

Hi Stampers,

While I was working with the Cozy Christmas stamp set I thought I would do a few cards.  They are totally different.  Today's card uses Home for Christmas Designer Series paper over the base card which is Mint Macaron.  A piece of Mint Macaron lace is attached beneath a piece punched with the Flower Medallion punch and Mint Macaron CS.  The bell image is from the Cozy Christmas stamp set.  I stamped it in Real Red ink and then colored in the bow and branches with Stamp n Write markers.  I added this piece with dimensionals.  Very easy but still better than a box store card cause this one is made with love.
