Just a quick little Halloween card.  The base card is Pumpkin Pie CS followed by a piece of designer series paper from the Happy Haunting series.  I used a strip of the reverse side of the Crow paper and a Spider Web doily as an accent.  I stamped the greeting from the Six Sayings hostess set in Black Archival ink on another piece of the designer series paper.

Have a safe and happy Halloween.

Reason for the Season

Hi Everyone,

Today's card took a bit for me to create.  I have seen similar cards elsewhere but without measurements or a template.  Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not a math wizard, so I am very proud that I figured this out and it actually worked.  Take a look. Let me know what you think.

The base card is heavy Whisper White CS.  It is a single piece so the heavy paper was perfect to give it a little more body. I covered it with a piece of DSP from the Season of Cheer Design Series Paper.  I stamped an image from the Reason for the Season stamp set after coloring it with Stamp n Write markers.  The poinsettia in this set can be a two step stamp so I stamped the second step with Rose Red ink.  The holly leaf strip is the flip side of the paper in the background.  That's another perk to Stampin'Up!'s designer series paper.  It is two sided with endless possibilities.  I stamped the greeting from the stamp set Embellished Ornaments with Cherry Cobbler.  I can't wait to try this same pattern on another card.   Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your loyalty.  I love what I'm doing and doing what I love.

Happy Reindeer

Hi Stampers,

I have been holding off as long as possible with the Holiday projects but before you know it Thanksgiving will be here and then Christmas.  Here is the first of many Holiday cards.

This little reindeer from the Santa's Gifts stamp set is so cute I couldn't resist making him part of my first card.  I used the Lots of Labels framelits dies to cut an opening in the Cucumber Crush base card. I used two smaller dies from the same set to cut out a Real Red and a Whisper White label.  I stamped the image with Memento Black ink on the White label.  I colored the reindeer with Tip Top Taupe ink and alcohol.  I used Cherry Cobbler for the scarf.  I gave the nose a little sparkle with Cherry Cobbler dazzling details.  The white label is adhered with dimensionals.  I stamped the trees from the To You and Yours Too stamp set in Mossy Meadow on the outside of the card.  The stars are from the same set stamped with White craft ink.  This was a really simple card but I wanted that little guy to be the center of attention.  Thanks for looking. Let me know what you're thinking.

Vintage Leaves vs Clorox

I promised something with a little more imagination. Here it is. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I have shown a post in the past using an Aqua Painter with bleach to remove the color from an image. In that technique you emboss the image and remove the color with the bleach filled Aqua Painter.  For this card I used Tangelo Twist as the base card followed by a layer of Basic Black CS.  On the Cajun Craze CS I used small leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and Memento Black ink to stamp a background.  Next I used the Oak Leaf from the same set and "inked" it with bleach I had placed on a piece of felt.  Hold the image on the CS for just a minute to be sure the bleach absorbs into the paper.  I used the dots from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set and repeated the bleaching.  After the bleach was dry I restamped the small leaf again in Memento Black ink onto the Oak leaf.  The greeting is from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set.  I hope you give this a try.  The results always differ just a bit.

Have a great day. Hugs and happy stamping, MB

Paper Pumpkin strikes again

Hi Everyone,

With Halloween just around the corner I had some last minute goodies to get ready for our grandchildren and our grandson celebrated his 5th birthday on Sunday that's why no posts.  I think I have my act back together so hopefully no more lapses.

Today's card is a take off of the October Paper Pumpkin.  The suggested ideas from Stampin' Up! are always great but I always like to change it up to see what I can come up with.  This is what I did.

The base card was already cut and scored.  I'm guessing it is Sahara Sand.  I used a piece of So Saffron on the right side of the card stamping it with the images from October's Paper Pumpkin and Watermelon Wonder ink.  The tiny flowers are Soft Sky and the leaves are Old Olive.  I stamped the same images on the base card.  I sponged the edges with Watermelon Wonder.  I cut the floral circle provided in the kit in half and adhered it to the left hand side of the card.  The label was also provided and I stamped the greeting with the Basic Gray ink, also from the kit.  I adhered the label with dimensionals.  I have something cool planned for tomorrow. Stop back and check it out.
