Awesomely Artistic Birthday

Hi Stampers,

Today is my only sister's birthday.  I took her to lunch and spent a few hours with her before I had to get back home and she had to pick up her grandchildren from school.  This is the card I made for her. I hope you like it, she did!

As is so often the case the picture just doesn't do this card justice.  I used the tissue paper technique. I hope my sister didn't think the card has wrinkles cause we're getting older.  It's because I stamped the images from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set onto tissue paper with Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and Wisteria Wonder ink. I scrunched it into a ball then straightened it out and attached it to a piece of Very Vanilla CS with a glue stick.  I sponged the edges with Pool Party and adhered it to a Bermuda Bay base card.  I used a framelit from the Project Life tags and labels set to cut out the greeting. I used the NEW Curvy Corner Trio Punch to make the slots for the Pool Party ribbon to fit through.  Just something fun to try for a change of pace.  Especially if you like a vintage look.  Thanks for stopping.

Hearth and Home

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing week end.  I spent Sunday with my daughter.  She did great running her half marathon on Saturday so we had to celebrate.  Her husband is hooked on a video game with five other guys.  Way too technical for me.  My hubby vegged in the lazy boy. So they were both happy we abandoned them for awhile.  First we shopped for a runners fit belt then wine at World Market then lunch at TGI Friday's.  We both had a Sam Adams Octoberfest.  Then we went to The Fire.  It's a glass art store.  We both made fused glass pendants.

One of the sites I visit regularly showed today's creation in a Winter Scene.  I can't remember who it was but a shout out to whoever had this great idea.  I chose to use the oak leaf image from the For All Things stamp set stamped on Vellum with Tangelo Twist ink.  I cut two sets of the window and frame and adhered the stamped vellum  between the two.  I punched a 2 1/2 inch circle as the base.  I attached a battery operated tea ;light with a glue dot behind the window frame.  I sponged Cajun Craze ink on all the edges.  I stamped an image from the Petite Petals stamp set with Crushed Curry ink and attached it to a corner of the window frame. Take a look. Let me know what you think.

Halloween Treats

Hi Stampers,

I was determined to get a post in today.  I know it's a tad late but you know what they say, "better late than not at all."  I CASE'd the idea for today's project from Angie Juda.  She is one of the top demonstrators in the US.  She also is a very sweet, genuine person. I created the bag with a piece of retired Very Vanilla Natural CS.  This CS is one I wish they would have kept but you can't stand in the way of progress. I used three of the images from the September Paper Pumpkin all mounted on one block and stamped with Memento Black ink to create the background.  The Tangelo Twist spots are from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set.  I attached one half of a spider web doily with the NEW fine tip glue pen.  The bats are cut from the butterfly punch and the 1/2 inch punch took off the bottom portion to make the butterflies into bats. They are cut from black glitter paper.  Now for the witch hat.  Punch a 2 1/2 circle with black glitter paper. Use the 1 1/4 inch punch to punch a circle within the 2 1/2 inch circle.  Punch two trees from the black glitter paper with the tree punch.  Attach the trees to a mini clothespin with glue dots. Slide the trees inside the punched 2 1/2 inch circle. Bend the circle slightly to form the brim. Attach with glue dots.  Use the bow builder punch to create the bow and attach to the hat.  The clothespin clips onto the top of the bag.  It may sound complicated but take it step by step and you'll have it!  It's super cute.  Take a look. 20150925_200140

My daughter is running a women's half marathon tomorrow morning.  We'll be waiting with her husband at the finish line.  I am so very proud of her.

Awesomely Artistic

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping in to see what's new.  I can't believe how easy this card came together.  I was looking through some home d├ęcor magazines and came across a color combination similar to Crushed Curry and Blushing Bride. I never would have put those two colors together but it looked really awesome together so I artistically created a card. (catch the reference?) So here goes.

20150923_140443

I used Pink Pirouette CS as the base. I used every image from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set randomly stamped with Versamark ink. I wanted to cover a large portion of the card.  I embossed with white embossing powder.  I sponged Crushed Curry and Blushing Bride over the embossing.  I stamped the dragon fly and the greeting as well as the frame with Chocolate Chip ink.  The Project Life Tags and Labels framelits has a matching die for the frame. I adhered the frame with dimensionals and mounted the finished front onto a Chocolate Chip base card.  I am really excited about how these two colors turned out. How about you?

For All Things

Good Morning Stampers,

Can you believe it 93 days until Christmas.  Time is flying by.  Fall arrived at 3:24 am CST today.  I thought today's card was appropriate to welcome the new season.  Take a look.

20150923_100323

The base card is Soft Suede CS followed by a layer of Mossy Meadow.  Green is one of my very favorite colors and I am in love with Mossy Meadow. Next I sponged a piece of Very Vanilla CS with Old Olive ink.  I created the frame from scraps left over from other recent projects.  I lined the frame up onto the Very Vanilla then used images from the For All Things stamp set to create the picture.  The background splotch (for lack of a better word) is Sahara Sand. The leaf is Tangelo Twist I rocked the edges with Cajun Craze ink. I inked over with Crushed Curry then stamped the dots from Awesomely Artistic with Chocolate Chip ink. The bow is Blackberry Bliss.  I stamped the banner image from the For All Things set with Sahara Sand and the greeting from the same set with Old Olive ink.  I fussy cut the banner.  I hope you enjoyed.  Thanks for stopping by.
