Sheltering Tree Fall Style

Happy Monday Everyone,

I hope the past week end was kind to you.  Mine was up and down.  I did get to hear two of my grand children singing to me.  That was the highlight of my day yesterday.  They are a bit over two and four years old. That sweet innocent age,  My daughter and I had some good laughs on Saturday playing with the Scan n Cut I mentioned in one of my past posts.  We did get it figured out but I still need to practice with it before it reaches it's full potential.

So today's card is from a returning stamp set Sheltering Tree.  This set has so many possibilities.  It covers all four seasons and many occasions.  I sponged the background with Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White CS.  The base of the card is Chocolate Chip. The trunk of the tree is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink.as was the swing.  I over stamped Cajun Craze ink on the swing. The leaves are also Cajun Craze.  The bike is Basic Gray.  The grass is Mossy Meadow, This is a fast and easy project because the sponging takes just minutes and the rest follows quickly.  Enjoy!

Halloween Sneak Peek

Hi Stampers,

The days are getting closer to September 1.  Remember that's when you can place your order from the Holiday Catalog.  I wasn't going to show another sneak peek but I love Fall, and Halloween is part of that. I couldn't wait to do a scene using the  Happy Scenes stamp set. Take a look.  Let me know what you think.

The base card is Basic Black CS. The second layer is from the Happy Haunting Design Series Paper. This is two sided filled with spider webs, ghosts and bats along with polka dots, plaids and stripes. I used a piece of Whisper White CS sponged with Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder a smidge of Tangelo Twist and Daffodil Delight to create the background.  I stamped the image from the Happy Scenes stamp set with Archival Black ink.  I used Stamp n Write markers to color in the leaves and pumpkins.  The Window and ledge were cut with the NEW Hearth and Home Framelits die from Tangelo Twist CS. I sponged it lightly with Black ink.  The BOO is also from the Happy Scenes stamp set.  The little ghost in the window is fussy cut from the Happy Haunting DSP and adhered with a dimensional.

Pillow Box

Hi Everyone,

You know how I'm always saying I have the best hubby in the world.  Well yesterday he spoiled me again with a surprise gift.  It's a Brother Scan n Cut.  While we were at convention in Utah this year one of our team members, Char had a very intricate fern leaf on all of the team swaps.  That would have meant fussy cutting 15 ferns.  We all asked how she had the patience to do that.  She said  "My Scan n Cut did it for me."  None of us knew what it was but after she explained what it did I started to drool.   I mentioned it to my hubby when I showed him Char's swap.  He stored that away until yesterday.  I can't wait to use it but I am going to until my tech savvy daughter can play with it with me.

So for now: one of the new dies in the Holiday Catalog is a Square Pillow Box die.  There were so many ideas with this die at convention that I just HAD to have it.  I used Design Series Paper from the Timeless Elegance series to create the box.  I tied Pool Party ribbon on top.  I stamped the wreath from the Circle of Spring stamp set with Memento Black ink.  I colored in the wreath with Old Olive, Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Wisteria Wonder Stamp n Write markers.  I used the Wonderful Wreath framelits die to cut out the wreath.  Easy peasy!!  The greeting is stamped in Pool Party and is from the Circle of Spring stamp set too.  Imagine all the things you could stuff in this box. I love it.

Simply Simple

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe how fast the time is flying by.  It won't be long and it will be September.  That's not all bad since the NEW HOLIDAY catalog debuts on September 1.  You won't want to miss it.  You've had sneak peeks for awhile now but on that day you can see the whole caboodle.

Speaking of September these are the dates of my September classes.  Sept. 10 5:30 to 8:30, Sept. 19 9:30am to 12:30 pm Central Time.  These two classes will feature the same projects.  Sept. 24 5:30 to 8:30.  This class will be different then the previous September classes.  If you live in the Green Bay Wi area and would like to attend please RSVP no later than three days prior to the event you would like to attend.  Since everything is pre-cut for you I need to be sure I have the right number of materials ready. Drop me an e-mail to register.

Today's card uses a variety of products that came together easily for a simple creation.  The base card is Tip Top Taupe followed with a layer of DSP from the Timeless Elegance Series paper. Then a half doily with a strip of Old Olive CS over the doily with a simple stamp in Old Olive ink to highlight it.  I stamped a flower from the Flower Shop stamp set in Rich Razzelberry on Rich Razzelberry CS.  I did the same with the flower from the Crazy About You stamp set and punched them with the Pansy punch and Medallion punch respectively.  The center of the flower is Rich Razzelberry on Hello Honey CS.  One of my favorite birthday greetings from the Butterfly Basics stamp set is stamped with Rich Razzelberry ink.  See what you think.

Yummy Birthday Wishes

Sunny Monday stampers,

You know any day the sun shines is a good day.  I don't even mind the Winter days in Wisconsin as much when the sun is out.

I have seen today's card on a  lot of other sites but Connie Stewart was the first blog I saw it on so I am giving her the credit.  If you like chocolate like I do this card would be great.  The "cake" is actually three chocolate nuggets wrapped in DSP.  In this case it is paper from the Cherry on Top DSP stack.  Take a look.

The base card is one of the NEW in-colors, Cucumber Crush.  The yellow print paper is again from the Cherry on Top design series paper stack.  I used Tempting Turquoise ink to stamp the cake plate and the banner above from the Build a Birthday stamp set. I stamped the plate a second time and fussy cut the dish part, not the stand.  I adhered this with dimensionals to the first stamped image so the nuggets would have something to stand on.  I adhered the nuggets with dimensionals also.  The ribbon on top is Hello Honey.  The greeting is also from the stamp set Build a Birthday.   Now this card would not mail well but it sure would be fun to watch someone gobble up those nuggets.

Thanks for looking.  Please let me know if you have comments or questions. I would love to hear from you.
