Happy Easter Bunny

Good Morning stamping buddies,

Everyone has their favorite technique when creating a card or canvas or background.  I have always been drawn to watercolor.  Some of the very muted watercolors give you a vintage look and that's my second favorite go to technique.  Today's card was stamped with Black Memento ink on Whisper White CS and then water colored using the squeeze the ink pad technique. If you don't know what that means it's when you squeeze the ink pad to get ink in the cover of the ink pad so you can use it as your palette.  The reason I like water coloring so much is because I love to shade an image and I find it easy to do this way. 001

The image is the Happy Easter Bunny stamp which is available as a single woodblock stamp. This bunny is so cute he can be used well beyond Easter without the greeting.  The base card is Bermuda Bay CS with a strip of DSP from the Painted Blooms pack.  This was pretty simple but relaxing because I love to color.

Thanks for looking,

Love is Kindness

Good Monday Morning,

This Saturday I had a stamp class.  We created four cards and two adorable bunnies.  This is one of the cards we made.  I CASE'd the original design from Ginger Rabesa but totally changed the papers and colors. 001

I love the DSP Painted Blooms.  The background paper with the delicate tulips is from that set.  The base card is Calypso Coral.  After I stamped the image from the single woodblock stamp, Love is Kindness with Memento Black ink I used Stamp and Write markers to color the image.  I used Daffodil Delight and shaded with So Saffron.  The leaves are Old Olive,   I adhered this to a piece of Lost Lagoon CS.  It is a simple card but so pretty.

Just a reminder Sale-a-Bration ends tomorrow.  If there are supplies you need or stamp sets you want this is your last chance to score a freebie from the Sale-a-Bration catalog for every $50 purchase.

Thanks for looking.

Butterfly Basics

Good Morning my creative friends,

I have been toying with the idea of embossing the Butterfly Basics thinlit for a few weeks. So here it is. 001

The picture truly does not do this card justice.  I took the picture three times and this is the best of the three.  I can't wait until it is warm enough to shoot the pics outside in natural light.  The butterfly was cut out with the Butterfly Basics thinlit with Whisper White CS.  I first sprinkled black embossing powder with an old salt shaker onto the butterfly, heat embossed it and then did the same with gold embossing powder.  The shaker system works for me when I don't want an entire image heavily embossed or if I want to use multiple colors.  I gold embossed the flower from the Butterfly Basics stamp set onto Basic Black CS.  The greeting is from the same set in Gold Metallic ink.  The base card is Basic Black followed by Gold Foil paper.  I adhered the butterfly with a dimensional.

I just checked the backorder report and unfortunately the Butterfly Basics stamp set and thinlits are on the list of items that cannot be ordered right now because of the container issues on the coast.  I am hoping they will become available the first week in April.  The bundle of the thinlits and the stamp set will save you 15% so keep that in mind.  This set is worth waiting for.  It's versatility and style will never grow old.

Thanks for looking.  Have a safe and happy week-end.

Thank You

Good Morning everyone,

The 3.5 inches of snow we got yesterday is melted but the sun is not shining today.  Looks very gloomy out there.  Maybe the bright flower on this card will perk up the day. 001

I used Melon Mambo ink on Melon Mambo CS with the Medallion flower from Crazy About You, Flower Shop flower and a Petite Petals for the third layer.  I punched these out with the coordinating punches then inserted a tiny brad in the center.  I used Wild Wasabi ink and the thin stalked flowers from the Nature's Perfection stamp set to stamp the background on a oval cut from Whisper White CS using the Oval thinlits.  The greeting is stamped with Melon Mambo and is from this month's Paper Pumpkin.  The base card is Wisteria Wonder CS.

The card I am working on is a lot of fun.  Stop by tomorrow to check it out.

Painted Blooms….painted petals

Good Morning everyone,

I am enjoying the bright sunshine even though the temperature is below freezing it feels warmer. I have been listening to a red headed woodpecker tapping away for hours and watching the birds in our heated bird bath.  I love Spring.  It's a time for new life.

Today's card is not difficult, just putzy. I used Melon Mambo as the base card.  The print panels are cut from the Painted Blooms DSP and mounted on Pacific Point CS. I stamped images from the Painted Petals stamp set with Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White CS, and flicked the edges with Old Olive ink. The "Bloom" greeting is from the For Peep's Sake stamp set. The panels are adhered to the base card with dimensionals. 001

Thanks for stopping. Let me know if you have any questions. I would be glad to help.
