Indescribable Gift

Hi Everyone,

Tonight my daughter and I are going to the Brad Paisley concert.  I am really looking forward to it.  He puts on such a good performance. I’ll be up WAY past my bedtime LOL!

Today’s card starts with a Very Vanilla CS base embossed with the Filigree Frame Textured embossing folder.  I sponged Crumb Cake ink around the edges and Baked Brown Sugar over the raised embossed areas.  I stamped the branch from the new stamp set Indescribable Gift in Memento Black ink.  I water colored the blossoms with Strawberry Slush ink and Blushing Bride for the lighter color.  The leaves are Old Olive.  I added tiny pearls to a few of the buds on the branch and a Mossy Meadow bow tied it all together.  Don’t be afraid to try water coloring.  You can get so many different looks with this technique.

Thanks for looking.

Painted Petals

Good Morning everyone,

A while back I showed a card with the dry embossed technique that I did not run through the Big Shot.  Today's card uses the same technique of inking the embossing folder but this time I did run it through the Big Shot.  I used the Spring Flowers embossing folder and Strawberry Slush ink. 001

I used the Bermuda Bay oval that I had cut from my daughter-in-law's birthday card and stamped the flowers from the new Painted Petals stamp set with Bermuda Bay ink to give the tone on tone effect. A simple strip of Strawberry Slush CS finished the card.  I know it is simple but sometimes that's not all bad.  I left off the greeting so that I could use it for any occasion that came up.

Shout out if you have comments or questions. Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday

Good Morning everyone,

Hope everyone had a good week end.  My daughter and I worked on our Paper Pumpkin kits for January together yesterday.  She works a lot of hours so our time together is precious. My hubby sat in to add his sense of humor to our play time.  The end result is pretty cute. If you aren't already subscribing to Paper Pumpkin now would be a good time to do just that.  The kits have been awesome lately.

It was my daughter-in-law's birthday last week.  I CASE'd a card from Paula Knall. Thanks Paula.  I changed the colors and embellishments but the sketch is the same. 002

The base card is Crisp Cantaloupe CS. I used the oval framelits to cut the center of the Bermuda Bay CS.  I cut the next larger oval with Whisper White and mounted that behind. The leaves and butterfly are from the stamp set Kinda Ecclectic. The blossom is three layers, the Medallion punch, the Pansy punch and the Petite Petals punch.  The stamp sets are Flower Shop, Petite Petals and Crazy About You. The greeting is from the December Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Thanks for looking.  Have a magnificent Monday.

Fresh and Easy

Hi Everyone,

001
I don't know about you but I am pretty sick of Winter.  I thought I'd create a card with a fresh Springtime look.  I did use one new product, the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions embossing folder.  I did not run it through the Big Shot though.  I inked the folder with Strawberry Slush ink, then pressed the Whisper White CS piece between the folder.  When you do this you still get a great background but it is not dry embossed.  The base card is Strawberry Slush CS. I added a white paper doily and a flower image stamped from the Flower Shop stamp set and punched with the Pansy Punch.  I adhered the flower with dimensionals.  The greeting on the banner is from the Crazy about you stamp set.

Thanks for looking.  Have a wonderful week end.

Happy with the Results

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I told you I was going to play with the doodle stamps from the Snuggles and Smooches stamp set.  I had this vision of creating a flower using several of the small doodles combined. This is what I came up with 002

I stamped the image five times with Memento Black ink in a circle.  I used my Pink Pirouette blendabilities to color the image.  The leaves are die cut from Painted Blooms DSP.  The base card is Pink Pirouette layered with Pistacchio Pudding.  The loopy center is left over baker's twine from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  A tiny white pearl button tops it off.  I am happy with how this turned out.  Thanks for looking.  I'd love to hear from you.  I will be posting my February class schedule shortly.
