Missing in Action

Sorry for the long delay in posting.  Christmas was wonderful family time. We were able to see all of our children and their spouses and all of our grandchildren.  That doesn't happen very often.  We are so blessed.  Within 30 minutes of the last family leaving I was struck by the infamous flu bug.  Not only was my stomach at war with the world but now I seem to have a double whammy with the upper respiratory portion of this monster.   So I am heading back to bed and ask your patience until I can get back in my creative mode.   Happy New Year to everyone and stay healthy.

Check out this weeks weekly deals they are pretty awesome.

Simply Vintage

Good Morning everyone.  Santa and I had a little time between making caramel corn and fudge to whip up this vintage card.  One of my favorite Stampin'Up! papers is the very vanilla naturals.  It has flecks of color in it that makes it perfect for the vintage look.  I inked the edges of the all three layers with Crumb Cake ink.

The base card is Very Vanilla Naturals CS. I die cut the second layer with Real Red and the Labels Collection die.  The tree is stamped on an oval of Vary Vanilla Naturals CS.  The greetings are from the Project Life by Stampin'Up! stamp set Holiday Cheer.  The ink is Garden Green.  In the December Paper Pumpkin there was an extra gift.  It was piercing templates.  I used one of these to pierce the design on the oval I punched with the Extra Large Oval Punch.  Another reason to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, always a surprise inside!  I added two vintage style embellishments non SU. 001

Thanks for looking.  Have a wonderful week end.

Snowman Tags

These snowman tags are just too cute not to CASE.  The original is by Eva Bussom. Thanks Eva. 001

Punch a 2 inch, a 1 3/8 inch and a 1 1/4 inch circle from Whisper White CS.  Use dimensionals to adhere the circles to one another. I hand drew my noses and mouth.  The eyes are a standard hole punch.  I used Basic Black CS for the hat.  The ribbon is folded over and glues beneath the head circle.  I added a piece of silver and white twine from the November Paper Pumpkin kit as a tie.   The To: and From:  are stamped on the back.  I punched a flower with the itty bitty flower punch and embellished it with a gemstone.

These are super quick to assemble so you can make multiples for all those Christmas gifts.

Thanks for looking.

Joyful Christmas

Good Monday morning everyone.  There is nothing like creativity to restore calm and inner peace.  I needed to do that after the Packer game.  The Girl Scouts showed up to play instead of the professional athletes.  So I used the holly leaf from the Joyful Christmas stamp set, to form a wreath.  I punched the berries from red glitter paper using the circle punch from the retired itty bitty punch set.  A simple gold bow and the Joy greeting completed the card.  I used Garden Green as the base card and Naturals Ivory to stamp the images.  I paired Old Olive and Garden Green ink on the wreath. 001

I can't wait to show you images from the new catalog and Sale-a-bration.  It's just a few weeks away. Remember you can ask for a Stampin'Up! gift card for Christmas.  You are going to love the new products.

Thanks for looking.  Have a great day.

Beauty of the Season

I know I have gotten behind with my posts this week and I apologize.  Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year and I just got caught up in the preparations.  Today I finally had some time to play.  I used the Beauty of the Season stamp set stamped with Memento black ink on Vellum from Stampin'Up!.  This vellum is much thicker than the usual hobby store vellum and easier to work with. After stamping the image I used write and stamp markers to color it.  On the reverse side of the vellum I sponged a combination of Bermuda Bay and Marina Mist ink.  The dimensions of Vellum for this size jar are 9×3 3/4 inches.  A Cherry Cobbler ribbon was tied around the rim.  A battery operated tea light shines through the image on the Vellum.  Unfortunately the picture does not transmit the full effect. 001

More next week.  Have a great week end and thanks for looking.
