I have always said my faith, family and friends must be first in my life.  That's why I have not been able to post for a week.  I have been busy still burning the midnight oil for the craft show tomorrow because I do not want to let my friend down who is co-chairing this event.  My husband had another health issue which since has resolved but being a retired RN puts me in charge of his health and many others.

I do have a quick card to share with you.  I used only one stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge to create this free form tree.  I used soft inks, Pistacchio Pudding, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana.  I started at the base of the tree and worked my way up into a sort of point.   Hope you enjoy.  001

Thanks for looking.  I promise I'll be back on Monday.  Have a great week end.

Gift Card Holders

Hi Everyone,  I am getting ready as you all know for two holiday craft shows.  This is one of the paper craft items I will have in my booth. 001I

I will offer both holiday and every day designs.  These are gift card holders using the Gift Bow Bigz die.  It makes either a single or a double bow or a small and large bow.  I chose the single bow for the gift card holders.  The bow actually acts as a closure for the flap.  This is a great way to dress up an ordinary gift card and make it something special.  The flower in the other holder is made using the pansy punch and snipping between the petals and then curling the petals.  I use the thin handle of a  paint brush to curl the petals.   Hope you enjoyed looking.

Sorry for the long lapse in posts.  I was out of town for four days and when I returned my husband decided he will be having knee surgery this Friday.  We have many, many, flower gardens and we needed to be sure they were tucked away for the Winter and the leaves raked before his upcoming surgery.  Our son-in-law actually ended up racking for us because Dave's knee wasn't holding up.

My son-in-law's birthday is today.  This is a card I made for him.  I CASE'd the design but changed the greeting and the embellishments.  I used the stamp set For All Things and the Hardwood embossing folder. The banner is cut with the banner framelit set.   001

Thanks for your patience.

Stars and stars

Good Monday everyone.

I spent some time Saturday with my youngest grandchildren, a set of twins (a boy and a girl) who are almost 18 months old and very entertaining.  There is something about their innocence that is so refreshing.  They are really starting to talk and listening to them with new words sprouting all the time makes me smile.

Yesterday was football Sunday.  Go Packers!  Those boys could be held accountable for some cardiac arrests if they keep playing like they did yesterday.

I have mentioned before that I am getting ready for two holiday craft shows.  That forces me into Christmas and holiday mode before I'm ready but it is fun none the less.  This card was really fun to create. 001

The base card is Garden Green.  I took strips of DSP, mostly from my scrap bin, and glued them to a sheet of Whisper White CS.  I cut three stars using the Stars framelits from the pre created paper.  I mounted them to Very Vanilla CS I ran through the Big Shot with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing folder.  A few gemstones, buttons and linen thread and we're all finished.

Thanks for looking.  Back to the workbench for me.

Christmas Bauble

Hi Everyone, Winter is on it's way in Wisconsin.  We had our first frost last night in Green Bay.  Not hard enough to freeze my hardy snap dragons in the garden.  I'm glad because I have still been picking a bouquet every few days.  The thought of days without flowers is sad.

My order came yesterday so I had to try out some of the new stamps.  The Christmas Bauble is a single woodblock stamp.  I'm not big on the wooden stamps but this one has so many possibilities I couldn't resist. 001 002

This is a horizontal gate fold card.  I didn't feel like traditional holiday colors so I colored the image with Night of Navy and Wisteria Wonder Blendabilities.  There is a little Daffodil Delight on the center.  I used a snowflake from the retired set Endless Wishes to stamp the snowflake inside with Wisteria Wonder ink.  The greeting is from Watercolor Winter Too.  I added a little sparkle with silver glimmer paper and the snowflake and Joy die from the Snowflake Card Thinlit set.  The picture really doesn't do this card justice but I thought you might enjoy looking.

Have a great weekend.  Hugs and happy stamping,  MB
